Loader’s Daily Double – best bets at Wolverhampton
Chris Loader combines his top two bets at Wolverhampton into this Lucky 15 on Sunday 9th February.
Storm Ciara forced racing to be abandoned on Sunday across Britain and Ireland. Racing has been given the green light and I’m heading towards the evening action at Wolverhampton with my selections. Can we get the week off to a winning start?
Monday’s Daily Double
GLEN COCO (5.40 Wolverhampton)
On paper this might look a competitive affair, but I’m quite keen on the chances of Glen Coco. The six-year-old was in a messy race at Kempton lat time and the form as already worked out as Unforgiving Minute has won since.
Before that, the son of Aussie Rules ran a creditable second at Chelmsford confirming he’s in form and trainer Stuart Williams has been going well in the last fortnight, operating at a 24% strike rate.
If Glen Coco can sit in behind the pace I think the six-year-old can add another win at Wolverhampton to his CV.
CLAP YOUR HANDS (6.10 Wolverhampton)
Clap Your Hands has been in scintillating form this winter, winning his last three starts and his last two successes came at Wolverhampton. Poppy Bridgwater has been aboard in those races but Callum Shepherd is in the saddle tonight.
In this contest, the four-year-old will be running off a mark of 88 and was raised 11lb for that latest effort. Furthermore, he will be stepping up in trip, trying two miles for the first time but there’s no reason to think he won’t be suited by it. With David Simcock operating at a 32% win rate, I am expecting the son of Universal to continue his progression.
