Loader’s Daily Double – best bets on the all-weather at Kempton

Chris Loader (@Luckyloaders15) returns with his best bets from the Wednesday card at Kempton.

I’m back in calmer waters today with two selections on the evening card at Kempton. I will also be there on course for my first taste at a meeting underneath the floodlights and I’m hoping I can be the lucky charm.

Tuesday’s Daily Double

 Junius Brutus – 7.30 Kempton

This son of Cockney Rebel finally drops to a comfortable level and connections will be disappointed if he doesn’t make the frame.  He’s been keeping better company this winter and was last seen finishing fifth in a conditions race at the course and that form has already been boosted as the third Harry’s Bar won at Lingfield at the weekend.

To find his last victory, you have to go back to Ripon in August 2018 and that statistic appears to be alarming, but this is a class drop and the lowest level he’s ran at for some time. In-form apprentice George Rooke is booked for the ride and claims an extra 7lb, so with a nice draw in stall one the King Power-owned gelding surely has to have his day.

Kings Slipper – 8.00 Kempton

I advised backing Kings Slipper on his last start at Kempton when he finished a perfectly respectable second after returning from a lay off and the winner of that race was Rangali Island, who went on to score again at Wolverhampton last week.

There is a lack of pace in this race and if Adam Kirby decides to make the running,  it could suit Kings Slipper, who won off this mark of 87 in April last year.
