Loader’s Daily Double – best bets at Thurles and Chelmsford

Chris Loader (@Luckyloaders15) returns with his best bets from the Thursday cards at Thurles and Chelmsford.

It case of playing second fiddle for us at Kempton on Wednesday night as both selections ran their race but just were unfortunate to bump into two well handicapped horses. Our attentions for today’s Daily Double come from the jumps card at Thurles and the all-weather at Chelmsford.

Thursday’s Daily Double

 Politesse – 4.55 Thurles

Lorna Fowler is a trainer that punters are starting to pay attention to, especially in bumpers. Fowler recently trained a  66/1 bumper winner in January and ever since, bookmakers have become aware of her name.

Politesse is likely to be well found in the market but has every chance after finishing second in a Grade 2 at Leopardstown during the Dublin Racing Festival. Before that run, he had already demonstrated ability when finishing third on debut at the Punchestown Festival behind Longhouse Poet and Monkfish, and both of those horses have since run in Graded company.

This race looks a winnable opportunity and Tom Hamilton claims a handy 3lb.

Original Choice – 7.00 Chelmsford

Original Choice has been holding his own in better company of late and finished second at Lingfield behind the classy individual Mildenburger.

The six-year-old will be pitching back in a handicap tonight and takes a class drop for Nick Littmoden. The son of Dragon Pulse is also seemingly versatile and has a record of 2-8 on the all weather.Connections have found a good opportunity and Hollie Doyle, who is booked for the ride, was the last jockey to win on him. If the former William Haggas-trained gelding gets his act together, this could be his night.
