MONDAY TIPS FOR KILLARNEY – IRISH RACING BEST BETS
3:05 Killarney – KWD Handicap Hurdle (4yo+ 80-102) 2m1f
SANI PASS hasn’t had much racing but the Robin Des Pres mare has shown some ability in her four outings over hurdles having joined this yard from the point-to-point sphere.
Henry de Bromhead’s charge has twice finished runner-up over timber, latterly when last seen out at Tramore in September where she was beaten five lengths behind Call Me Lyreen. That form looks fair and there’s likely better to come from her in time.
She makes her handicap debut here where an opening mark of 95 looks very fair and she can get competitive once again so no surprise to see her in the mix here.
3:35 Killarney – Plaza Hotel Rated Novice Hurdle (4yo+) 2m7f
DYSART DIAMOND showed ability in bumpers either side of an absence, getting off the mark on his reappearance at Limerick in July with a defeat of Sonny John.
Willie Mullins’ charge followed up that success by scoring on his hurdles debut, beating Santana Plessis at Tramore in August with a three lengths’ margin of victory and there could be more to come from the Shirocco mare as she tackles this longer trip which promises to suit.
With her yard in good form she can be expected to improve and if handling this softer ground then there’s no reason why she can’t go in again.
4:05 Killarney – Ross Road Handicap Hurdle (4yo+ 80-95) 2m7f
DAISY’S HOLLOW bounced back from a lesser effort at Galway with a victory at Tipperary just twenty four hours ago and if turned out quickly the Beat Hollow mare could follow up.
Shane Duffy’s charge had earlier finished runner-up at Tramore although failed to build on that outing in a couple of subsequent runs before registering that breakthrough success which she won a shade comfortably despite a late mistake.
If quickly turned out here then she can compete from the same mark and will be unpenalised for that run; she’ll have wellbeing to prove as it is unknown how much that effort on Sunday will have taken out of her, but if none the worse then she could well strike again quickly.
5:35 Killarney – KWD Beginners Chase (4yo+) 2m7f
CUSHINSTOWN FINEST has struck wins between the flags and over timber and the Trans Island mare has shown some ability over fences where he’s made the frame in all four starts this campaign over the larger obstacles.
Colin Bowe’s charge latterly finished third behind Give Him Time at Downpatrick last month, finishing clear of the fourth horse and she finds herself in a very winnable contest now so she could be capable of getting off the mark now in this discipline under a very capable amateur rider.
He comes into this race boasting the best form of these over fences and he probably wouldn’t need to improve much if at all in order to take this prize.
