1:45 Punchestown – Ladbrokes (Q.R.) Handicap Chase (5yo+) 3m
FIRST TOUCH got back to winning ways when scoring at Roscommon little over two weeks ago and the Mull Of Kintyre gelding can follow up here.
Donal Cummings’ charge had won a point to point and a hurdles contest previously and the nine-year old is low mileage for one of his age so may still have some further progress to come as he goes back over fences here in the wake of that recent success that saw him beat Room To Roam by just over one length.
He could be fairly weighted on his hurdles form now tackling a handicap over the larger obstacles and he can make his presence felt again here.

CALVADOS didn’t build on her debut success over hurdles at Ballinrobe in August, beaten into third behind reopposing Bell Ex One at Listowel last month but on these terms it might be worth chancing John McConnell’s charge to reverse the form.
The Vadamos filly finished seven lengths’ third on that occasion behind her reopposing rival, not helped by a couple of late mistakes in her jumping although she was giving 6lbs to the winner after allowances so it wasn’t a bad run all things considered.
She has a little more to do here to overturn that form but the pair meet again with the selection now in receipt of 7lbs which ought to be enough to see her turn the tables and first-time cheekpieces could help to eke out some more improvement so no surprise to see a big run here.
2:55 Punchestown – Ladbrokes Best Odds Guaranteed Online Hurdle (4yo+) 2m2f
KOSHARI hasn’t cut much ice over fences in recent runs although he did finish a creditable sixth in the Galway Plate; but back over the smaller obstacles here Willie Mullins’ charge could prove a tough nut to crack.
The Walk In The Park gelding was a dual-winner over fences earlier in his career following his arrival from France, but he has proven a smart performer over hurdles and won twice over the smaller obstacles in the first half of this year with wins at Cork and at this venue during the Spring Festival in a valuable handicap and he also made an appearance in the Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival although was never competitive in that race.
His return to hurdling in what looks a very winnable race can pay dividends and every chance he can go close back at the scene of his last victory.
