SATURDAY IRISH RACING TIPS – BEST BETS AT GOWRAN PARK & KILLLARNEY
2:35 Killarney – Killarney Towers Hotel Handicap (3yo 45-70) 1m
TEN TEN TWENTY won for this column earlier in the campaign and John Murphy’s charge is taken to continue his successful run and land a hat-trick of victories.
The Vadamos colt has been progressive this term, twice finishing runner-up before landing victories at Sligo and Cork respectively, the latter coming under a penalty where he ran out a three lengths’ winner over Accessory.
That runner-up has won since and the manner of his victory hinted at better to come as he travelled well in the race before scoring readily and while the handicapper applies more pressure he can continue his good spell to win again here.
3:20 Gowran Park – PWC Champion Chase (Grade 2) (5yo+) 2m4f
ROYAL RENDEZVOUS has proven himself a very smart chaser and Willie Mullins’ charge can add to his winning tally here.
A Grade Three novice chase winner last March he finished runner-up in the 2020 Galway Plate and having looked in need of his reappearance in April he has won both starts since, scoring over hurdles at Ballinrobe and then landing this season’s Galway Plate from Easy Game where he won by one length over his stablemate.
The King’s Theatre gelding is 1lb better off at the weights in this contest so ought to confirm the form back in Graded company and he can extend his winning run here.
4:20 Killarney – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies & Mares Maiden (3yo+) 1m3f
GLINTING has shown enough in her two runs to suggest it won’t be long before she’s winning and the Galileo filly can score here to get off the mark at the third attempt.
Aidan O’Brien’s charge stepped up on her debut at Leopardstown last October when finding only one too good at Limerick in June on her reappearance, beaten just over one length behind Theory Of Music and with further improvement expected from the Ballydoyle runner she can get off the mark here at the third attempt.
She has to prove race fitness after another break but the yard’s runners always command the utmost respect and this doesn’t look the strongest of races in which to make her return so she looks worth siding with here to open her account.
4:30 Gowran Park – Join Gowran Park Racing Club Beginners Chase (4yo+) 2m4f
FULLY CHARGED has yet to get off the mark over fences but it may be worth chancing Henry De Bromhead’s charge to score here.
The Fair Mix gelding has been running well in defeat, finishing runner-up in two fo his last three starts at Naas and Tipperary and he makes his return from five months off here.
Only beaten just over one length latest where he may have won but for a last-fence mistake the front two pulled well clear and he has the potential for better to come equipped with first-time blinkers.
If he can brush up on his jumping over the larger obstacles he can add to his Limerick hurdles win here and no surprise to see him going close.
