Templegate (The Sun)
1.50 Haydock – IRISH ROE had a bit in hand when scoring at Aintree last time and hasn’t been clobbered by the handicapper. She travelled well there and saw out the 2m4f trip nicely.
2.25 Haydock – TEDHAM clocked a big personal best when finishing sixth in a hot handicap at Cheltenham last time. That was all the better because he was coming back from seven months off and found the 2m5f trip on the sharp side.
3.00 Haydock – LOSTINTRANSLATION put in a breathtaking round of jumping when winning a Listed contest on comeback at Carlisle earlier this month.
3.40 Haydock – KNOW THE SCORE looked a natural when winning at Worcester on his chasing debut. He jumped well there and wasn’t stopping so this longer trip should be fine.

2.05 Ascot – ALTIOR finally goes up in distance and he can kick off his new era with a victory. He deserves his place in the history books for winning two Champion Chases.
2.40 Ascot – IF THE CAP FITS won this 12 months ago and can kick off his season in style. All roads hopefully lead to the Stayers’ Hurdle and this is an important stepping stone.
3.20 Ascot – KNOCKNANUSS ran a cracker when third on comeback at Cheltenham last time. This 2m distance suits him well and he was far from disgraced in top races like the Arkle last season.
