CLAUDIUS SECUNDUS (1.45 Sandown, 7f handicap)

Ran well last time on his first turf start when staying on well to finish third after not getting the clearest of runs at Sandown.

Looks one to keep on side and the booking of leading apprentice Cieren Fallon to take off 3lb is a positive.

Acts on the track and should go close granted luck in running,

TIPPLER (2.20 Sandown, 1m handicap)

Represents Sir Mark Todd who has made the switch from Olympic three-day-eventer to trainer and Tippler looks to have been given a decent mark of 73 for his first start in handicaps.

Ran well in a maiden at Bath against some well-bred types and should be seen to better effect in here.

YAFTA (2.25 Newcastle, 6f hconditions)

Has not run below Pattern class since June 2018 and been plying his trade in much higher grade since.

Ran really well twice this season at a higher level behind Space Blues and Limato and a drop to sprint trips looks the way forward now.

Jim Crowley has chosen him over stablemate Jash, who comes out best at the weights, which must be a positive to his chances.

ARCHIE PERKINS (3.25 Newcastle, 1m2f handicap)

Ran no sort of race in the John Smith’s Cup at York last time but had previously run well when going down by half a length to the progressive Harrovian at Doncaster.

Course and distance winner so conditions should hold no fears for him and he can be expected to bounce back to form here.
