We look over Sunday’s UK horse racing action and give our Sunday racing best bets and tips for Chelmsford, Hamilton and Plumpton.

After another cracking Saturday of horse racing action there is more to look forward to as we enter Sunday where three more fixtures head to post across the UK. The day’s racing comes on the flat at Hamilton on turf and Chelmsford on the all-weather; while over the sticks there is a fixture at Plumpton.

We take a look over the day’s scheduled fixtures and pick out our Sunday racing best bets and tips for all three meetings.

1:30 Chelmsford – CCR Handicap Cl2 (3yo+ 0-105) 7f

OH THIS IS US looks to be on the decline but he showed he was still capable of useful form when finding only one too good latest over course and distance and Richard Hannon’s charge can end his losing streak here with a repeat.

A smart performer at his best, his last win came when scoring at Chester last August, but he’s largely failed to fire since that success. However his latest run was a better effort where he was denied by just under one length by Laser Show, perhaps just given too much to do but travelling better in the race than had been the case in previous starts.

Also a course and distance winner in his younger days, the handicapper has left him alone following that run and he turns out here 4lbs below his last winning mark. He could then get back to winning ways if able to back up that recent performance with Ryan Moore taking over.

2:20 Plumpton – Sky Sports Racing Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race) Cl4 (4yo+) 2m1½f

HIGHWAY ONE was only a modest sort on the flat but the Quality Road mare has shaped better over hurdles in her two starts in this sphere and George Baker’s charge can improve again to get off the mark.

Fifth on her hurdles debut following a break from the flat on the all-weather she stepped up on that experience to finish twelve lengths’ third behind Hasanabad at Southwell earlier this month where she wasn’t helped by being hampered at a crucial point in the race.

She kept on well though for the bronze medal and was clear of the fourth although no match for the front two. It was however a better run than it appears at face value and she could find a jolt of progress now she tries a slightly longer trip over this stiffer track.

With Richard Johnson in the saddle she won’t want for assistance and she likely wouldn’t need to improve too much to take a hand here.

2:40 Hamilton – Fraser Tool Hire, Tool & Plant Specialists Handicap Cl6 (3yo 0-65) 6f

REBEL REDEMPTION won twice on the all-weather around the turn of the year and having looked in need of his first couple of outings following lockdown John Quinn’s charge has run better races in defeat at Thirsk and Catterick the last twice where he has made the frame each time.

The Lethal Force gelding was latterly beaten only one length behind Restless Endeavour last month, showing soft ground to hold no fears and conditions here will be similar. That bare form though is nothing special, but he arrives in decent fettle unlike most of his rivals and he’s only been raised 1lb for that last effort.

Assuming he can continue his recent progress then he should make his presence felt again and every chance he can get back to winning ways with a first success on turf.

4:00 Chelmsford – Free Streaming Every UK Race Handicap (Div II) Cl5 (3yo+ 0-70) 1m2f

SACRE BLEU is a maiden after four career starts but the Oasis Dream gelding has shown enough to suggest he can win a race and Simon Crisford’s charge is chanced in this contest to make the breakthrough.

He’s yet to seriously trouble the judge in his four outings but he latterly ran a decent race on turf at Sandown in August to finish five lengths’ fifth behind Tindrum, possibly unsuited by the softer ground. He has previous experience of tapeta from an earlier run at Newcastle but he switches to polytrack now and the return of blinkers could help to focus him.

This doesn’t look a particularly strong race and he’s still relatively unexposed as a handicapper so could have a bigger effort to come and he can post a big effort here.
