Sunday Specials – Top Horse Racing Tips from Nottingham, Chester and Musselburgh on Sunday, September 27

Mehdaayih wins the Chester OaksMehdaayih wins the Chester Oaks

An interesting way to end the week with plenty of big fields on show at Nottingham, Chester and Musselburgh

We’ve looked over the day’s horse racing action and picked out our Sunday racing best bets and tips for the pick of the day’s racing action.

2.25 Chester – White Horse Fillies Handicap (3yo+ 1m2f)

It often pays to back a horse who has showed decent form at the track and Fannie By Gaslight won her only start at this track in September.

She is only 1lb higher than when winning that race and she has a decent draw in stall 3.

Booking of Franny Norton is a positive as he rides the track really well and Fannie By Gaslight can return to winning ways.

4.00 Musselburgh – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Scottish Premier Fillies Handicap (3yo+ 1m)

LIGHTS ON is definitely one to watch and looks as if she could be a typical Sir Michael Stoute improver.

Interestingly, Ryan Moore has travelled all the way to Scotland for two rides on Sunday and Moore has ridden at the track only six times in his career.

That suggest that Lights On could be a horse to follow not just on Sunday but over the next 18 months.

1.30 Nottingham -Star Sports Derby Wild Card Conditions Stakes (2yo 1m)

Just a four-runner race with three of the four runners previous winners.

But we’re going to advise backing Golden Flame, who is the only maiden in the field but has been running well in better races than this.

He finished fourth in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot and was unlucky not to win at Salibury last time. Connections should be celebrating a first win with him on Sunday.
