Sunday’s 8,567/1 Lucky 15 – Four Picks At York For 4th September

Just the two meetings go to post in the UK on Sunday, with flat action at York and a jumps card at Fontwell. Our Lucky 15 for Sunday 4th September is focusing on the flat, with all four selections coming from York’s card.

Our expert tipster has produced their best bets across the cards, which make up our advised Sunday Lucky 15.

*Odds correct at time of posting – 7:45pm Saturday 3rd September*

Secret Angel (3.30 York) – 7/1

Karl Burke’s SECRET ANGEL failed to make his mark in class 2 company last time out, but back in calmer waters he can resume winning ways.

After just missing out on debut, he was pitched into a class 2 at Pontefract and struggled, finishing almost seven lengths behind the winner Shandy Star. Getting back into a class 5 next time out saw him win nicely. The fourth in that race has come out and won since, in a nice boost to our selections form.

He raced over C&D last time out in class 2 company again, but was hampered early on and never really got close enough to challenge. He’s dropped to a class 3 here, and with jockey Clifford Lee in excellent form (24% strike-rate in the past two weeks), he looks excellent value in this.

Red Force One (4.05 York) – 10/1

This can go the way of C&D scorer RED FORCE ONE, who looks a huge price. Philip Kirby’s 7-Y-O rattled in a hat-trick over the summer and despite failing to win last time out, he’s still in with an excellent chance in this.

It was difficult not to be impressed with the manner of his victory here in July, when he bolted up to win by eight lengths, despite being eased down in the final strides. The runner-up Geremia was third in a class two at York recently, so to beat him the way Red Force One did shows how impressive that performance was.

He may not have put in the same level of performance last time out, but we’re willing to forgive him that run and get back to winning ways in this.

Eeetee (4.40 York) – 13/2

David O’Meara has his yard in fine form and he can land another winner with EEETEE. He can land a quickfire double, having scored at Redcar in some style at the end of August.

That was his first start over 1m 2f, and he won going away to beat some decent rivals that day. A repeat of that level of performance will see him go extremely close in this, so he looks excellent value.

Top young jockey Mark Winn is on board and takes a useful 7lb off the horse, and that’s a huge bonus considering the form he’s been in lately (33% strike-rate over the past two weeks). The bookies seem to think stablemate Samuel Spade may have a better chance, but we’d much rather be with Eeetee for this.

Lullaby Bay (5.15 York) – 13/2

It’s difficult to see LULLABY BAY going off as big as 13/2 in this. Karl Burke’s filly rattled in a hat-trick in May, and only lost her winning streak in Listed company in June. Dropped into class 3 here and after a short break, she can resume her progression and get back to winning ways.

She looked to be getting better with every ride in May, and connections decided to pit her into Listed company at Ayr in June, which may have been a step too far as she faded in the final stages. Coming back into this quality of race, she has a superb chance of landing a fourth win from just eight races.

Top young jockey Harry Davies is on board, and he can steer this filly to a comfortable victory. She’s surely the one they all have to beat.
