Monday

The Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes is the key race on Monday over in Saratoga (USA), but there’s also some good-looking racing in the UK & Ireland too. Jumps action is getting busier with meetings at Newton Abbot, Perth and Galway.

Greatwood Gold Cup winner Umbrigado is in action in the feature at Newton Abbot (3:00), but we’re taking him on in our top tips today!

Elsewhere, there’s also flat action at Brighton and on the all-weather at Newcastle.

Tuesday

A future star could come out of the 2yo Fillies Series Final (4:10) at Goodwood, with Charlie & Mark Johnston’s Sirona bidding to follow up his impressive debut win and looks set to go off at the head of the betting.

Goodwood has the pick of the racing on Tuesday, but there is a Listed race at Galway (6:40) too, where Munster Oaks runner-up Yaxeni bids to get back to winning ways.

Elsewhere, there’s action from Catterick, Hexham and Leicester.

Wednesday

The St Leger Festival starts at Doncaster, with the Leger Legends Stakes (3:00) always a great watch, featuring plenty of familiar faces who retired from the saddle. The race has been won by the likes of Sir A P McCoy and Joseph O’Brien in the past, so it gives a nice opportunity to watch some former stars of the sport back in the spotlight!

The Group 3 Sceptre Fillies’ Stakes is the feature (3:35) on Day 1, where Adaay In Asia could complete a fantastic five-timer if lining up.

There’s also racing at Carlisle, Kempton and Uttoxeter, whilst the sole Irish meeting comes at Cork.

Thursday

Day two of the St Leger Festival and there’s two Group 2 races on the card – the May Hill Stakes (2:35) and the Park Hill Stakes (3:10). We could also see the return of 2021 Derby winner Adayar in the Conditions Stakes (4:20) on the Doncaster card!

The racing league continues into week 5 at Southwell, where London & The South will bid to extend their lead at the top of the leaderboard.

There’s also the unique racing on offer at Laytown, the only racing run on the beach! It’s well worth a watch if you haven’t seen it already.

Friday

No Stradivarius in the Doncaster Cup (3:10) this year sadly, but we could hopefully still see the likes of Trueshan and Coltrane in the Group 2 feature.

Trueshan Goodwood Cup 2021

The other Group 2 on the cards is the Flying Childers Stakes (2:35), where Molecomb Stakes winner Trillium, Round Tower Stakes winner Treasure Trove, and Nunthorpe Stakes runner-up The Platinum Queen could all line up, in what would be a cracker of a race!

Aside from Doncaster, there are just three meetings going to post, with action from Chester, Sandown and Salisbury. Ebor Handicap winner Trawlerman could line up at the latter course, with an entry in the Persian Punch Conditions Stakes (6:50).

Saturday

What a day we have in store, featuring THREE Group 1’s, plus another FIVE Group races across the cards!

The final British Classic of the season – The St Leger (3:33), is the pick of the races and could see Charlie Appleby land yet another winner in the race with current market leader New London.

Over in Ireland, it’s the Irish Champions Stakes (3:45) could be one of the races of the year, with the likes of Vadeni, Mishriff and Luxembourg potentially lining up.

There’s also the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown (4:55), where Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Homeless Songs looks set to be the one they all have to beat.

Two fantastic cards at Doncaster and Leopardstown, but there’s also action from Chelmsford (AW), Chester, Ffos Las, Lingfield (AW) and Musselburgh.

Sunday

Not your usual Sunday, with a whopping FOUR Group 1’s on the card at the Curragh!

  • Flying Fives Stakes (2:25)
  • Moyglare Stud Stakes (3:00)
  • Vincent O’Brien National Stakes (3:35)
  • Irish St. Leger (4:10)

Can Goodwood Cup winner Kyprios follow up in the Irish St. Leger? We can’t wait to find out!

There’s also two meetings in the UK, with action from Chepstow and Musselburgh. The Scottish venue hosts the Musselburgh Gold Cup (3:15), which is probably the pick of the racing on our shores!
