Loader’s Lucky 15 – Irish all-weather runner to star in each way multiple
Racing expert Chris Loader (@LuckyLoaders15) picks out his each way Lucky 15 for Friday’s racing at Newcastle, Southwell and Dundalk.
It was a very disappointing day yesterday with none of my selections being competitive in any of their races. Also it was a blow that Cheltenham was called off for today but fingers crossed the weekend racing can still go ahead. However we still have some competitive racing at Newcastle, Southwell & Dundalk that I will be getting my teeth stuck into and hoping for a better day with our EW Lucky 15.
1.05 Newcastle – Chanting Hill
Nick Alexander’s stable have been in flying form this week yielding five winners since the start of November. This young recruit ran an encouraging rules debut at Ayr to finish in fourth place and the winner Aurora Thunder went on to finish in second at the same course on Wednesday. The daughter of Milan seemed to cope with the ground last time and won a point to point over three miles. I expect her to come forward from her promising run and go very close at Gosforth Park.
2.35 Southwell – Fil D’Ariane
When Tom Symonds books Aidan Coleman punters should sit up and take note. The pair are 4–16 (25%) yielding a +£28.00 to a £1 stake as their all-time record. This four-year-old already holds some hurdling experience when racing in France and made the frame on several starts in testing conditions. I think this horse might just have the edge on his rivals in a race where they lack experience or race fitness.
3.25 Newcastle – Trooper Turnbull
Unlike many others in the field tomorrow Rose Dobbin’s runner has experience of a racecourse and that might hold him in good stead. If you watch the replay of his run at Newcastle in December last year, he travelled into the race beautifully and looked like he had strong chance of victory but faded in the final strides to finish in fourth place. He looks to be a nice prospect and his experience could be an advantage come post time.
6.45 Dundalk – Major Reward
I wouldn’t normally be tipping up at Dundalk on a Friday night but I thought this horse had a good chance. He has a good record on the all-weather winning 2-5. His stable debut was very promising after a slow start and his late eye catching headway suggesting he could be in good form. With the hood added I think he will be a massive player in the race.
