THURSDAY TIPS FOR TRAMORE – IRISH HORSE RACING BEST BETS
12:30 Tramore – Industry F’raiser For Children’s Health Foundation Crumlin In Memory Of Pat Smullen Maiden Hurdle (4yo+) 2m
BULLDOZE showed only moderate form in a pair of bumper outings but if his recent outing at Fairyhouse is anything to go by then the Notnowcato gelding is likely to prove a much better hurdler.
Henry de Bromhead’s charge finished around ten lengths’ third but given it was his first run in ten months there’s a strong likelihood he needed the outing and he can do better with that under his belt.
He sported a first-time tongue tie in that last outing which is retained and he has the assistance of Hugh Morgan for this outing where the rider’s claim rates a positive; he’s open to improvement on the back of that first run and it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see a better effort now.
2:05 Tramore – Kilmurrin Cove Mares Handicap Hurdle (4yo+ 80-109) 2m5f
MY NEWBROOK ROSE made a winning breakthrough over hurdles at Thurles back in March, seemingly appreciative of the stiffer test of stamina over a longer trip and it might be worth sticking with the Doyen mare to get back on the scoreboard having run well on her reappearance.
That outing came at Sligo in October where she finished fourth behind Lady Of The Sea although she may have needed the run which was over a shorter trip than the one over which she had struck the time before.
She goes back up in trip for this latest run which should suit and she can compete from the same mark as last time; while testing ground is no issue and Adrian Murray’s charge can post an improved run now he’s go one under his belt and likely to prove sharper as a result.
2:40 Tramore – Councillors Strand Beginners Chase (4yo+) 2m5½f
EXIT TO THE WEST has got her act together in 2020, winning a point-to-point after almost a year off having been disappointing over hurdles previously; that win seemed to galvanise her and she ran out a ready winner back over hurdles at Listowel in Setember.
Robert Tyner’s mare found only one too good on her latest start where she switched to the larger obstacles, finishing three lengths’ runner-up behind Hostage To Fortune at Gowran Park and this slightly longer trip will hold no fears so it would come as no surprise to see her improving.
The Westerner mare looks worth sticking with then to get off the mark at the second attempt over the larger obstacles and given her impressive win between the flags earlier in the year she can go close here.
3:10 Tramore – Lady’s Cove Handicap Chase (4yo+ 0-95) 2m5½f
CRACK ON CORRIE won cosily for this column seven days ago over hurdles and assuming this doesn’t come too soon then William Austin’s charge can follow up.
The Oscar mare had run a series of solid races prior to that victory which was on her second career success; but she ran out an eight lengths’ winner over Ask David and the blinkers that have been deployed since her return in September have clearly worked the oracle.
Appreciative of the stiffer test last time despite running well the time before over shorter she goes up further in distance here switching to fences and she can follow up that last-time win to get off the mark in this discipline under her good claiming rider.
