Thursday’s Daily Double – 19/1 double covering Doncaster and Chelmsford
Chris Loader rolls his two best bets into this Daily Double, covering races at Doncaster and Chelmsford on Thursday 6th February.
It seems we have hit a slight curse at the moment on the Racing Tips Daily Double as we’ve only been able to find half of the winning formula over the last couple of days. I’m hoping we can find the recipe today with selections coming at Doncaster and Chelmsford. Best odds available here with Unibet.

Thursday’s Daily Double
2.23 Doncaster – Mr McGo
Mr McGo has been a hard one to trust when looking at the form book remaining a maiden over fences after nine attempts. However his penultimate start at Kempton on Boxing Day was very encouraging finishing fourth behind subsequent winner Simply The Betts.
This particular race looks a winnable contest in a lower grade and the nine-year old now looks on a fair mark of 117. Furthermore the booking of Lorcan Murtagh is a plus claiming an extra three pounds. The son of Touch of Land surely is going to have his day against seemingly weaker opposition.
3.50 Chelmsford – Verne Castle
Verne Castle is somewhat of a course specialist at Chelmsford with five wins to his name. Despite this, Michael Wigham’s gelding hasn’t won a race since September 2018. That victory came off a rating of 91 and the son of Sakhee’s Secret has dropped down the weights to winnable mark of 84.
His recent performances have hinted that he’s returning to some kind of form making the frame on both his starts at the track on his last two starts. Furthermore Hollie Doyle has been booked who’s been riding the crest of wave this winter. Despite being drawn wide in stall seven I expect a bold bid from the seven-year-old.
