Tips for Flamingo Park – Monday’s South African racing tips
Brian Healy looks over the Monday horse racing action in South Africa and gives his tips for Flamingo Park where a nine-race card awaits.
Monday kicks off a new week of horse racing action although there is no equine action in the UK as the nationwide lock-down continues, leaving punters to turn elsewhere and South Africa’s Monday fixture at Flamingo Park offers some respite with a nine-race card.

TIPS FOR FLAMINGO PARK
10:20 – itsarush.co.za Welcomes You Mr 71 Handicap (3YO plus) 5f
WEST OF SEATTLE is unexposed on this surface and the Sail From Seattle gelding got back to winning ways when running out a three-lengths’ winner over course and distance back in January with a defeat of Tokolosh.
Formerly a turf winner for Paul Reeves, he was making just his third start for Sarel von Willigh Smit and he ran well in defeat in the wake of that success when beaten around four lengths’ third to All Of Me back over this course and distance last time.
On those runs he could a tough nut to crack here as he bids to get back on the scoresheet and it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see him posting a big effort.
10:50 – All To Come Maiden Plate (F & M) (3YO plus) 6f
Lightly-raced ROYAL REWARD showed improved form on her first start for this yard when finding only one too good over course and distance earlier in the month and the Visionaire filly might be capable of going one better here.
Zietsman Oosthiuzen’s charge was sporting blinkers for the first time when beaten only a half-length behind Fort Royal and he could improve stepping up in trip for this latest run on this surface where she remains unexposed.
This looks a decent opportunity for her to get off the mark given she takes on more exposed rivals and every chance she can open her account.
11:20 – Betting World – 087 741 2777 Maiden Plate (3YO plus) 1m
GEOFFREY PALACE was beaten almost ten lengths on his last outing but the Potala Palace gelding could do better with that run expected to have sharpened him up.
He possibly found six furlongs to have been too sharp in that last run where he crossed the line in fourth behind Earth Shaker; but he could do better over this longer trip and he remains with the potential for improvement.
He should strip fitter for his first run in almost 80 days and no surprise to see him in the mix here.
11:55 – Tab Pays The Full Dividend, No Limits Maiden Plate (F & M) (3YO plus) 1m
TAC IT TWICE has made the frame on both outings here and the Twice Over filly can improve again to get off the mark at the third attempt.
Cliffie Miller’s charge finished third on her debut over five furlongs here back in February and she proved no match for an easy winner when last seen out here earlier in the month over seven furlongs behind Crimson Castle.
She could well progress again for this extra distance and much less exposed than this field of rivals she could take some beating if she does find improvement.
12:30 – tellytrack.com Mr 72 Handicap (3YO plus) 1m
NOW AND FOREVER has made the frame on all three starts at this venue and the Doowaley gelding could be worth chancing to get back on the scoresheet.
Now with Paul Matchett, he hasn’t won since scoring at Vaal last July. But he has been been running well in defeat and ought to continue to be involved having last been seen finishing four lengths’ third behind Supa Mufti here over seven furlongs earlier in the month.
This looks a slightly easier contest and with a claimer now in the saddle he looks weighted to go close so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he snaps his losing run here.
13:00 – Visit Tabonline Mr 66 Handicap (3YO plus) 7f
OH YEAH comes into this contest on the back of a recent success and the Traffic Guard gelding can follow up.
Cliffie Miller’s charge had been in decent form previously, finishing third on three of his previous four starts following his switch to this yard and he ran out an easy four lengths’ winner when last seen here earlier in the month when scoring over one mile.
The drop back in trip is no issue and a repeat of that last outing could be enough to see him strike again here.
13:35 – bettingworld.bet Pinnacle Stakes (3YO plus) 6f
VIA SACRA returned from three months off the track and a switch of yard to get back on the winning trail over this course and distance earlier in the month and the Pathform mare can follow up.
Now with Zietsman Oosthuizen, she appeared to find some improvement for the step up in trip where she ran out a half-length winner over Seattle Skyline and a repeat of that performance might be enough to see her follow up here given she remains unexposed both on the surface and over the distance.
14:05 – interbet.co.za 0861 150 160 Fm 66 Handicap (F & M) (3YO plus) 6f
FOURSIXSIXFOUR has been in good form in recent outings, twice finishing runner-up over course and distance either side of the new year and the Captain Corageous filly stepped up on those efforts to get off the mark over the minimum trip when last seen.
Stephanie Miller’s filly had a neck to spare over Bella Dodo on that occasion and with the return to a longer trip no issue she could well follow up returning from a short break if in a similar vein of form.
14:40 – Next Flamingo Park Racemeeting Monday 30 March Fm 60 Handicap (F & M) (3YO plus) 1m 1f
CARRY ME CARRIE got off the mark on her first outing over this course and distance earlier in the month, beating Venus Flytrap by almost three lengths and the Marchfield filly looks worth chancing to follow up.
Paul Matchett’s charge had shown some fair form previously on turf where she had made the frame on several outings before that win; but she had also posted a couple of underwhelming efforts prior to showing improvement latest where she travelled well into the race and won readily.
That was a career-best effort and she could have more to offer on the back of that effort where she remains unexposed on this surface and she can bring our Monday tips for Flamingo Park to a successful end.
