IRISH RACING TIPS – BALLNROBE BEST BETS ON MONDAY
5:15 Ballinrobe – Broderick’s Electrical Maiden Hurdle (4yo+) 2m½f
DONNRUA DREAM had shown glimpses of abilities in bumpers for his previous yard but now the Sans Frontieres gelding goes hurdling on his first start for Gavin Cromwell there could be some improvement in the fortunes of the four-year old who can get off the mark at the first attempt in this sphere.
Runner-up on debut at Clonmel in April he bounced back from a lesser effort to finish fourth at Tipperary latest but there could be more improvement to come now he tackles hurdles for the first time for his top yard and he likely wouldn’t need to find a massive amount in order to feature in this contest.
With his yard in decent fettle at present he should give a good account of himself and no surprise to see him make his presence.
5:45 Ballinrobe – Flannery’s Bistro Handicap Hurdle (4yo+ 80-109) 2m½f
RICKY BOBBY improved for the switch to handicapping at Cork last month where the Elusive Pimernel gelding ran out a comfortable winner over Rock On Seamie and John Joseph Walsh’s charge can improve to strike again.
That form hasn’t been done much harm and the race has thrown up a subsequent winner as well as several placed efforts from those who finished behind and there could be sufficient improvement to come from him in order to defy a 9lbs rise in the weights for that success.
This is an open contest but he likely has more to offer and ought to go well in pursuit of a second straight win.
6:45 Ballinrobe – C.J. Sheeran Ltd Handicap Hurdle (Div I) (4yo+ 80-102) 2m6½f
DEFINITEADARE has largely been acquitting himself well in defeat since scoring at Limerick back in April and Tom Cooper’s charge can get back on the scoresheet here.
The Court Cave gelding finished runner-up in both susequent runs following that victory before taking a couple of months off and he returned with a solid fifth at Roscommon just six days ago behind Fill The Tank, not helped by jumping errors late on.
Despite the mistakes he wasn’t beaten all that far in the end and he’s likely to be sharper now he’s had that run so no surprise if he were to make his presence felt again here.
7:15 Ballinrobe – C.J. Sheeran Ltd Handicap Hurdle (Div II) (4yo+ 80-102) 2m6½f
AN DROICHEAD EILE can get back on the scoresheet here and the Robin Des Pres gelding ought to post a big run.
Stephen Carey’s charge has shown improved form since joining this yard, making the frame on all four starts which includes a hurdles win at Navan in June prior to finding only one too good latest at Tipperary over fences and the lightly-raced seven-year old can continue to improve back over the smaller obstacles.
Both the runner-up and third horses home from his hurdles victory have won since to give the form a boost and a mark of 96 looks fair while the booking of Paul Townend catches the eye so a big run wouldn’t come as a surprise.
