We look over the Tuesday horse racing action across the UK and pick out our Tuesday horse racing best bets and tips for the day’s racing over the sticks and on the all-weather.

The horse racing action in the UK continues on Tuesday with four more meetings heading to post over the sticks and on the all-weather.

Jumps racing on Tuesday comes from the fixtures at Fakenham, Newcastle and Warwick; while in the evening on the all-weather there is action on the Wolverhampton tapeta under the floodlights.

We’ve looked over all four of the day’s racecards taking place and pick out our Tuesday horse racing best bets and tips across the quartet of fixtures going to post.

1:50 Warwick – Join Racing TV Now Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race) Cl4 (4yo+) 2m5f

Lightly-raced JAVA POINT can get off the mark over hurdles having ran well in recent starts where he’s twice finished runner-up at Uttoxeter and Newbury.

Kim Bailey’s charge most recently went down only by a neck behind Iron Heart at the latter venue earlier this month, beaten just a neck and he had a subsequent winner behind him.

He’s been pushed up 4lbs for that near miss but he could have more to offer especially with this step up in trip expected to suit given he had won a point-to-point earlier in his career. Still relatively unexposed over hurdles he can go well here and he ought to go close.

2:35 Newcastle – quinnbet.com Handicap Hurdle Cl3 (4yo+ 0-135) 2m4½f

GETAREASON didn’t fulfil the potential he had shown for Willie Mullins but he still ran to a very high level where he placed several times in Graded company as a novice including in the 2019 Lawlor’s Of Naas Hurdle and he contested at that season’s Cheltenham Festival.

He subsequently moved to Paul Nicholls for this campaign where he had wind surgery and went chasing with little success. The Getaway gelding has now joined Rebecca Menzies for whom he’s had three runs, two of which came in jumpers’ bumpers and might have been stretched by the longer trip latest when tried over three miles back hurdling at Doncaster earlier in the month.

Travelling well into the straight on that occasion and left in the lead he was put on the back foot by a mistake at the second last before weakening. He ought to appreciate the return to this shorter trip where he’s been eased 1lb in the weights and also drops into a Class 3 contest so a big run wouldn’t come as a surprise and he can go well here.

2:50 Fakenham – Snellings Norfolk National Raceday 4th May Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase Cl5 (5yo+ 0-100) 2m½f

COUNT JURADO has been in good fettle this term, making the frame in a number of outings prior to getting off the mark over course and distance when beating Goldencard by three lengths, suited by the strong pace.

Donald McCain’s charge is forgiven his last effort which came in a jumpers’ bumper at Lingfield and he can quickly bounce back following a short break and reverting to chasing here.

While he’s 6lbs higher in the weights for his win over course and distance back in November he has the services of Theo Gillard for this outing whose claim negates the hike up the ratings and sees him effectively compete off the same mark.

It wouldn’t be a surprise then to see him get back on track returned to this course and distance and he ought to go very close.

3:00 Warwick – Every Race Live On Racing TV Novices’ Handicap Hurdle Cl5 (4yo+ 0-105) 3m2f

GOLD CLERMONT is still lightly raced and could have more to offer having found only The Ogle Gogle Man too strong when stepped up to three miles at Ayr earlier in the month.

Tom Lacey’s charge had produced only moderate results prior to that effort where the Balko mare seemingly relished the much stiffer test to go down only by a neck; the front two had pulled well clear of the rest and the winner did little harm to the form with a near miss at Sedgefield a few days ago.

He’ s been hit with a 7lbs rise in the weights for that runner-up effort which will demand more although this even stiffer test of stamina could unlock another level of improvement and she could go one better than her latest outing.

3:10 Newcastle – Quinnbet Quarterback Handicap Chase Cl3 (5yo+ 0-130) 2m7½f

ASCOT DE BRUYERE can usually be relied upon to run his race at this venue where he’s a four-time course winner although he failed to fire when last seen last month, eventually pulled up behind Fortified Bay here.

Despite that misfire the veteran Kapgarde gelding could be worth chancing to bounce back and he had run out a wide margin winner the time before here back in November with a near-twenty lengths’ defeat of Oscar Ceremony.

This longer trip is no issue with two of his course wins coming over this distance while the quicker ground will suit and James Ewart’s charge can bounce back to winning form.

4:30 Fakenham – David Keith Memorial Veterans’ Handicap Chase (Leg 6 Of The Veterans Chase Series) Cl2 (10yo+ 0-150) 3m

POTTERS LEGEND has been running well this season following a wind operation, winning at Warwick back in November and running well in defeat including when finishing second from out of the weights behind Royale Pagaille in the Grade Two Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock.

Lucy Wadham’s Midnight Legend gelding was possibly stretched by the trip in heavy ground back at Haydock for the Grand National Trial, eventually crossing the line in sixth behind Lord Du Mesnil although he was beaten almost 40 lengths.

Back down in trip here and facing a more suitable assignment he could bounce back to form with the better ground and he could go close.

6:10 Wolverhampton – Play 4 To Win At Betway Handicap Cl5 (4yo+ 0-75) 5f

MUTABAAHY wasn’t seen to best effect three days ago over course and distance but quickly turned out in the wake of that run the Oasis Dream gelding can get back to winning ways.

Anthony Brittain’s charge is no stranger to the winners’ enclosure at this venue with six course victories to his name, five over this distance and he fluffed his lines latest behind Scale Force when slowly away and unsuited by the steady gallop.

He can still compete here from 2lbs below his last winning mark where he beat Chitra under a penalty back in December and he could prove a different proposition now to last time.

The likelihood of a stronger pace here which will suit him with a couple of confirmed front-runners in oppositon and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him firmly in the mix at the business end of the race.

7:40 Wolverhampton – Get Your Ladbrokes Daily Odds Boost Handicap Cl5 (3yo 0-75) 6f

POWER ON is still relatively unexposed and produced a career-best effort to get off the mark on just his second start for this yard earlier in the month when successful at Lingfield and the Power gelding can follow up.

Jonathan Butler’s charge ran out a narrow half-length winner over Emjaytwentythree on that latest outing, running on well late to lead close home for the win and he gave the impression that there may be more in the locker.

Laura Pearson is excellent value for her 5lbs claim and the rider certainly got a good tune out of her charge in that latter occasion and the pair combine again here.

While a 5lbs rise in the weights will demand a shade more improvement she could have more to offer now she’s got her head in front and the application of cheekpieces for the first time could elicit another jolt of improvement and every chance he can go close here.
