Tuesday Treats – Best Bets at Doncaster and Musselburgh on Tuesday, June 30
HORSE RACING TIPS
We’ve been hitting the crossbar in recent days but we’re confident of turning the tide with some big-priced selection on Tuesday.
Our experts have scoured the form and looked at every runner as they bring you the best horse racing tips in Britain
PRINCESS POWER (2.00 Doncaster, 6f handicap)
Finished last of 12 on her return, which was not the most auspicious of comebacks, but there are a couple of reasons why we can expect far better from her this time.
She’s got good course form, with one win from her two runs at the track and she’s only 1lb higher now than when winning that race.
Trainer Nigel Tinkler has booked Silvestre de Sousa for the ride and the pair have a near 20 per cent strike-rate when teaming up.
LADY SCATTERLEY (3.15 Musselburgh, 1m4f handicap)
Was well backed to make a winning return at Redcar over 1m6f and travelled as if she would be the likely winner before being held late on.
Love the idea of her returning to this trip and expect her to make this a true test of stamina. Acts well on fast ground and should have enough to beat likely main market rival Firewater.
TOM COLLINS (3.00 Doncaster, 1m)
Was highly tried as a juvenile and ran some good raced but his comeback run, in he finished last of nine, was extremely disappointing.
He showed much more at Royal Ascot a couple of weeks ago when finishing ninth after being badly bumped a couple of furlongs from home.
That run hinted at a return to form and David Elsworth’s horses are just starting to fire after a slow resumption.
HURRICANE ALI (4.30 Doncaster, 1m4f handicap)
Caught the eye on all three starts when staying on really well in races up to a mile.
This step up to 1m4f looks certain to suit on his handicap debut and trainer John Mackie has had one winner from just two runners in the last fortnight and it will be interesting to see if his good run continues with this lightly race three-year-old.
