TUESDAY HORSE RACING TIPS – BEST BETS FOR THE DAY’S UK RACING FIXTURES
3:00 Brighton – Follow At The Races On Twitter Handicap Cl6 (4yo+ 0-65) 6f
LETHAL ANGEL ended her time with Stuart Williams with a win at Chelmsford and the Lethal Force mare can get back on the winning trail on her third start for Jane Chapple-Hyam.
The mare shaped well on her first start for her new yard when finding only one too good back at Chelmsford earlier this month after which she was thrust into a Listed contest at Bath where she found the company too hot and beat only one home.
Back in a much more suitable grade the former course and distance winner can go well here and she could double her course tally of wins.
3:15 Yarmouth – Quinnbet Handicap Cl4 (4yo+ 0-80) 1m
BYZANTIA rounded off her time with John Gosden with a win at the third attempt, scoring readily at Southwell with a three lengths’ defeat of Dream Round prior to joining Charlie Fellowes.
The Golden Horn filly made her return to action following a break when finishing a creditable fourth behind Luna Wish where she wore a first time hood as she stepped up to ten miles. That longer trip might just have stretched her stamina and she is quickly returned to one mile for this latest run.
She ought to come on for that outing and open to further progress she can go close here.
3:20 Nottingham – British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Handicap Cl3 (4yo+ 0-90) 1m½f
LIGHTS ON showed a decent level of ability last term, winning at Newcastle and making the frame in her other three outings which included twice on turf.
Sir Michael Stoute’s charge won at the second time of asking when beating Tilly Frankl back in September after which she went close at Musselburgh when beaten a neck into the runner-up spot; while her last run saw her beaten just over one length into third by River Dawn at Kempton.
The Siyouni filly makes her reappearance here and she could have more to offer on her second start in a handicap. She can race from the same mark on turf as when racing at Kempton last time and there’s surely more to come from her after just four career runs so it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see a big effort.
3:55 Nottingham – British EBF Supporting Racing To School Nottinghamshire Oaks Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies & Mares) Cl1 (4yo+) 1m2f
A LA VOILE was disappointing when last seen at Yarmouth last September, finishing sixth behind Majestic Noor although she was beaten only around four lengths.
She had been in top form previously, reeling off a hat-trick of wins with the last of them coming at Sandown in August where the Invincible Spirit filly beat Angel Fairy where she made all under this rider and found plenty when pressured to register the win.
Likely to have more to offer this term it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see her bouncing back to winning form for her top yard.
5:00 Ayr – Staycation At Western House Hotel Handicap Cl5 (4yo+ 0-75) 1m
CHALLET probably needed his recent reappearance from more than five months off when finishing third to Danielsflyer at Redcar and with that under his belt the Clodovil gelding can get back to winning ways.
Michael Dods’ charge won twice last term, scoring victories at Thirsk and Ripon following the application of a hood and he ran well in defeat when chasing his hat-trick at Pontefract where he was beaten just a half-length into third.
He’ll be sharper for his return and he can race here from the same mark; while the return to one mile will be in his favour and he can post a big effort here.
6:20 Lingfield – British EBF Premier Fillies’ Handicap Cl3 (4yo+ 0-90) 1m2f
KALEIDOSCOPIC won twice last term, scoring wins at Sandown and Doncaster and the Le Havre filly showed improved form on her reappeance at Pontefract earlier in the month when chasing home Waldkonig, finishing around three lengths’ runner-up to that rival.
That form has been boosted with the winner going in again since in a Group Three contest and Mick Channons’ charge could have more to offer having only been raised 2lbs in the handicap for that run last time.
The third and fourth have also both won since so he looks very well treated now and with that Pontefract form now very strong he looks to hold solid claims of going one better and getting back on the winning trail.
6:40 Ayr – Visit racingtv.com Handicap Cl6 (4yo+ 0-65) 1m2f
WILL SOMMERS is still a maiden after six starts but he’s shown enough to suggest he can win races and Kevin Ryan’s charge can make the breakthrough here.
The Teofilo gelding found only reopposing Greengage too strong when making his seasonal return at Redcar earlier in the month but with that run under his belt and a small swing in the weights in his favour he can overturn that form this time around.
He was just run down late last time by the eventual winner but that one had the benefit of fitness and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the places were reversed here.
