Tuesday racing best bets – Tips for Catterick and Lingfield
Brian Healy picks out his Tuesday racing best bets and gives selections in every race for both of the day’s surviving racemeetings.
The recent bad weather continues to wreak havoc on the scheduled horse racing fixture list and Leicester’s Tuesday jumps meeting has become the latest casualty of the elements. The loss of that card leaves just two meetings to go to post with jumps racing from Catterick if that venue passes a morning inspection
Meanwhile, there is a fixture on the all-weather with a meeting on the polytrack at Lingfield.
Catterick (jumps) – 2.15 – 4.45pm (6 races)
Lingfield (flat, aw) – 2.30 – 5.00pm (6 races)
Brian Healy loooks over both of the day’s fixtures and gives his Tuesday racing best bets and selections in every race throughout the afternoon.

CATTERICK RACING TIPS
CATCHMEIFYOUCAN (5/1, William Hill) has largely run well in his three starts in handicaps this term, possibly just finding the ground too quick for her at Doncaster latest.
Jennie Candlish has her string in decent fettle at present and the Touch Of Land mare finished fifth in that last outing on Town Moor, although she was beaten more than twenty lengths having been unable to muster a chance of pace.
That form has been boosted with the winner scoring twice since and she turns out here 2lbs lower in what looks an easier contest. She has placed in heavy ground in the past from an even higher mark and the Touch Of Land mare can shed her maiden tag here.
122-rated Ashutor sets the standard and will likely be hard to beat; but CUBAN SUN (9/2, Bet365) probably found the step up to Listed company too much last time and back down to a more suitable level here she could bounce back.
The Havana Gold filly was a fair sort on the flat for James Given and she made a decent fist of her first hurdles start when chasing home Fantastic Ms Fox at Doncaster in December. She disappointed behind the same rival when last seen, beating only one home and she was possibly amiss on that occasion.
Kelly Morgan’s charge is likely better than she was able to show on that occasion and she might be worth another chance having her sights lowered here where she gets plenty of weight from Paul Nicholls’ charge.
ASK PADDY (3/1, William Hill) is thriving currently and can continue his excellent run of form which has seen the Ask gelding win his last three starts.
Two of those wins came over this course and distance prior to landing the hat-trick at Sedgefield latest, and he boasts a very good record at this venue where he has won three times and placed once from four outings here.
Sam Drake’s charge latterly struck by nine lengths despite carrying a penalty and a further 8lbs rise in the weights may not prove enough of a burden to prevent a repeat if handling this stiffer grade.
2.15 – Do Wanna Know
2.45 – Catchmeifyoucan
3.15 – Cuban Sun
3.45 – Saint Sonnet
4.15 – Ask Paddy
4.45 – The Composeur
LINGFIELD RACING TIPS
BELIEVE IN LOVE (7/2, Bet365) was arguably an unlucky loser behind the reopposing Goddess Of Fire over course and distance earlier in February. However, with a bit more luck in running the Make Believe filly can turn the tables.
Roger Varian’s charge was giving the winner 4lbs, but he was hampered and bumped at a crucial stage of the race where he forfeited his position before finishing off well. Only beaten a head at the line, it can be argued he would have won but for that mishap and he can gain revenge here on 1lb better terms.
This looks a decent race for the grade but the Varian runner can come out on top and gain a first win on just her fifth career start.
IN DEMAND (15/8, William Hill) isn’t one for maximum faith, but the Dalakhani gelding posted a career-best effort when finishing just over three lengths’ third behind Estrela Star when last seen out at Kempton at the beginning of the month.
Roger Charlton’s charge has looked ungenuine and he appeared again not to relish a battle in that last outing and posting a fairly tame finishing effort once headed. Despite that quirk, Adam Kirby seemed to get a better tune out of him than had been the case previously and he could progress with that better showing under his belt.
The form of that latest run is working out well, with the winner scoring twice since. The runner-up has also posted a subsequent win before finishing runner-up at Southwell on Monday. He’s been dropped 1lb for that last run and this lesser trip might provide the key to a first win so he could be worth chancing to get the job done here.
SALKEEV (9/2, Bet365) was thought better than he ultimately showed on debut over course and distance last month where Archie Watson’s charge was sent off second-favourite but only beat two rivals home having been very slow to stride and looking green throughout.
That run won’t have been lost on the Capella Sansevero filly who ought to progress on the back of that debut experience. She could prove a different proposition this time around given her potential for improvement.
The first three horses home in that debut run have all posted wins since and with first-time blinkers now applied she could do much better now.
2.30 – Believe In Love
3.00 – Palavecino
3.30 – In Demand
4.00 – Auchterarder
4.30 – Salkeev
5.00 – Come On Bear
