Horse Racing Tips on Tuesday, March 29

Any price references correct at time of writing

Koi Dodville (2.05 Fontwell)

Koi Dodville  was thought good enough to be given an entry into a red-hot Triumph Hurdle last time out, but was clearly out of his depth finishing 11/12. The notion that he is thought of in that regard by astute trainer David Pipe shows that he obtains enough class to be winning a race of this nature.

The pick Koi Dodville was thought good enough to run in this year’s Triumph Hurdle

He drops down severely in class, and if the race last time hasn’t left much of a mark he’s sure to take a lot of beating in these cooler waters. He’s a worthy favourite and by no means poor value at around 9/4.

The main danger should come from Chanceux who bounced back to form last time finishing 3rd at Doncaster, and he will give the selection something to think about.

Grooveur (3.15 Fontwell)

The shorter trip looks sure to suite the well-priced GROOVEUR in the 3.15 Fontwell. He failed to get home over 3m 2f at Hereford last time out and looks sure to at least give his true running now back at 2m 5f.

This was the distance he last triumphed at when in Novice company at Ludlow and the hope it will see him finally land in handicap company. It’s also a huge positive that he runs on a sounder surface – again similar conditions to his win at Ludlow which can only be a positive.

There’s plenty of questions over those at the head of the market. Neon Moon, a winner at 3m is extremely unreliable and hard to catch right. So the main danger will be likely favourite  Zestful Hope, but he seems to have been given a tough assignment in his first stab at handicap company on a stiff opening mark.

Chookie Dunedin (6.00 Wolverhampton)

On the bare numbers CHOOKIE DUNEDIN‘s win last time leaves him little wiggle room on a rising mark for a narrow victory. However, that triumph was better than the neck winning distance suggests.

Jim Crowley rode the selection Chookie Dunedin after the Weatherbys Racing Bank 300,000 2-Y-O Stakes

He’s fairly treated on his past exploits and we take Keith Dalgleish’s to take advantage and go in again. The Tapeta surface won’t be an issue having run well on plenty of occasions here. Indeed in higher company than this. All looks set for a big run.

Red Flyer (7.00 Wolverhampton)

RED FLYER is doing exactly as his name suggests and making hay in 2022 so far. He’s notched up two wins in a row already this year, putting in some smart performances full of good attitude.

He seems to get better as the race goes on and has extra gears to unleash in the final furlong. He’s shown an excellent winning attitude in his latest starts, and knows how to win races. It’s unlikely they’ve got to the bottom of him just yet, as he looks to just do enough in his races before easing down once the job is done.

With more to come we take him to finish off the Lucky 15 in style.

Undoubtedly his biggest rival will be Naajeeba who is another strong staying type – and is partnered with the eye-catching booking of Hollie Doyle.
