Tuesday’s Daily Double – 8/1 double covering two races at Newcastle

Chris Loader rolls his two best bets into this Daily Double, covering races two races at Newcastle on Tuesday 11th February.

Monday was a frustrating day with the Racing Tips Daily Double, as we found only one winner yet again. I am hoping we can turn it around on Tuesday. Sadly, we’ve lost Punchestown’s Grand National Trial day for the second time this week, so I’ve looked to the all-weather action at Newcastle for both of my selections. Tuesday’s Daily Double

4.20 Newcastle – Le Musee

Le Musee surely is the class act in this race and his mark of 66 still looks exploitable. Last time we saw him the seven-year-old was winning comfortably in an amateur contest at Southwell on the fibresand. If you go through his National Hunt form he had previously finished second to Champ in a Handicap Hurdle at Newbury for Nigel Hawke.

Furthermore he’s also been running in high level races such as the Ladbrokes Trophy. I think the course at Newcastle will suit him today with that long straight and his stamina can be put to strong use. I can see the son of Galileo taking all the beating and maybe a race such as the Northumberland Plate could be on the agenda later in the year.

4.50 Newcastle – Calevade

Calevade is starting to come to fruition now for Ben Haslam and scored well on the flat last time at Chelmsford to record his first win under rules. His mark of 53 still looks flexible and the form of his last run on the all-weather has been franked with Dolphin Village and Carvelas running well since. It seems that four-year-old finding his feet and his the track at Newcastle can suit as the son of Gregorian has finished second here before. I’m expecting a bold bid today.
