Musselburgh is also racing over the sticks while flat racing action comes from Newmarket on turf and Wolverhampton hosts an evening fixture under the floodlights on their tapeta surface. SATURDAY UK HORSE RACING TIPS – BEST BETS FOR THE DAY’S FLAT & JUMPS FIXTURES

1:35 Ascot – Ascot Underwriting Chase (A Novices’ Limited Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl3 (4yo+) 2m3f

All of these runners have a bit to prove at present but it may be worth chancing SOLO on his first try over fences and Paul Nicholls’ charge could regain the winning thread with the yard in decent fettle.

The Kapgarde gelding won the Grade Two Adonis Hurdle at Kempton for the Ditcheat handler following his move from France but he’s failed to live up to expectations since over the smaller obstacles and was disappointing when last seen at Sandown in April where he beat only two home.

He’s since had wind surgery ahead of this reappearance which sees him switch to chasing and he could do better if taking to this discipline although he’s certainly bred for chasing and he’s no forlorn hope here.

Saturday UK horse racing tips. Dan and Harry Skelton can get amongst the winners at Wetherby.

Saturday UK horse racing tips. Dan and Harry Skelton can get amongst the winners at Wetherby.

1:55 Wetherby – bet365 Mares’ Hurdle (Listed Race) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 2m

This could be run at a decent clip which could bring MOLLY OLLYS WISHES’ stamina into play and Dan Skelton’s charge can make a winning reappearance here.

The Black Sam Bellamy mare proved to be progressive last term, winning three times at up to three miles including in a Warwick Listed event prior to tackling the Grade Two National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell on his final start, finishing third.

While she could conceivably prove vulnerable contesting over two miles on her reappearance she isn’t one to hang about and may well set out to make the most of her stamina where she could prove hard to peg back.

2:03 Musselburgh – Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap Hurdle Cl3 (3yo+ 0-140) 3m

MORRAMAN hasn’t won since scoring at Wetherby back in April 2019 but Donald McCain’s charge may be able to resume winning ways here having gone close when last seen at Hereford being beaten by only three parts of a length.

The Gold Well gelding bumped into the useful Presenting Yeats on that occasion, just run down close home and he appears to building up to something judging on previous runs where he’s been running quite well in defeat.

He remains on the same mark and his last win came off this rating while Brian Hughes takes over and given the yard’s good form of late he is expected to run well assuming softer ground doesn’t prove a negative.

2:58 Newmarket – British Stallion Studs EBF Montrose Fillies’ Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 (2yo) 1m

ALMOHANDESAH might be worth chancing against likely hot-favourite With The Moonlight with Karl Burke’s charge taking a drop back in class having contested a Group Three in France when last seen and the Postponed filly can make her presence felt here.

A winner at Pontefract in June she’s contested at Listed and Group Three level since with little success, reeling off a trio of fifth-placed finishes with the latest coming at Longchamp in September behind Fleur D’Iris.

That was her first try at this trip and there may be better to come while the form has been boosted since with the runner-up going on to win the Prix Marcel Boussac while the third, sixth and seventh have all made the frame in Group company since.

Now dropping back in class she could post a big effort with her still being unexposed at this distance and no surprise to see her in the mix.

Saturday UK horse racing tips. Johnbb can win a valuable prize at Ascot.

3:20 Ascot – Bateaux London Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 3m

JOHNBB raced just three times last term, winning on his seasonal debut at Wetherby and he was in the process of running well there next time when falling two out. However he banished that run with an excellent second to Happygolucky at Aintree in April in the Grade Three Betway Chase and the lightly-raced sort can continue to improve.

The Stowaway gelding was only beaten around three lengths on that occasion, perhaps just feeling his exertions at the business end having always raced prominently and this slightly shorter trip ought to be in his favour.

Thorougly unexposed as a staying chaser he resumes this season 3lbs higher than when last seen, but he does have scope to improve and while this is competitive he can give a good account.

3:33 Newmarket – 888Sport What’s Your Thinking James Seymour Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 (3yo+) 1m2f

BAY BRIDGE is progressing well and arrives here having struck a hat-trick of wins this season already; there may be more to come from Sir Michael Stoute’s charge who can continue on her upward trajectory.

The New Bay colt has won at Newcastle, Newbury and York latterly when returning from five months off to beat Platinumcard by a half-length and he’ll surely be even sharper now with that under his belt as he goes up in class.

He’s entitled to take his chance in this higher grade as he has looked better than a handicapper in recent starts and he should be firmly in the mix again here in pursuit of a fourth straight victory.

3:40 Wetherby – bet365 Handicap Hurdle Cl3 (3yo+ 0-130) 2m3½f

Donald McCain has his string in excellent form and MACKENBERG could be the one to side with here with the prospect of improvement to come on his handicap bow.

The Jukebox Jury gelding won first time up last season when making a successful hurdles debut at Carlisle and he’s only once since finished out of the first three where he’s managed to record two more wins at Newcastle in a jumpers’ bumper and when last seen running out an easy winner of a Kempton novice’ contest.

His opening mark of 127 is certainly no gimmie in a competitive contest but Theo Gillard can claim a handy 5lbs and with the potential to improve he ought to make his presence felt for his in-form stable.

6:30 Wolverhampton – Coral Proud To Support British Racing EBF Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes (Bands C & D) (GBB) Cl5 (2yo) 1m½f

FLORA FINCH has shaped with ability on both her runs to date this season where she’s made the frame both times and the Lawman filly can get off the mark at the third attempt.

Roger Varian’s charge sets a decent standard on those two runs where she finished third on debut at Newcastle and runner-up latest at Chelmsford when beaten just a neck by Rousay and she’ll be well served by this stiffer test of stamina as she goes up in trip.

She’s open to plenty of improvement with experience also and with proven form on the surface she ought to go well here and can open her account.
