WEDNESDAY RACING BEST BETS – TIPS FOR MUSSELBURGH, LINGFIELD, NOTTINGHAM & KEMPTON
12:50 Musselburgh – Join Racing TV Now Novices’ Handicap Chase Cl5 (4yo+ 0-105) 2m4½f
GOING MOBILE has shaped with some ability in a handful of starts over fences since undergoing wind surgery and being fitted with a tongue-tie, making the frame in three of his four starts prior to getting off the mark at Market Rasen last month.
The Arcano gelding appeared to relish the stiffer test of stamina on that occasion and he ran out a ready winner over Veiled Secret despite only having a neck to spare at the line. That form has since been boosted with the third horse home winning since and Sam Drake’s charge has only been pushed up 5lbs in the ratings for that win.
There could be more to come from him given he’s unexposed over this longer trip and every chance he can follow up here.
1:30 Lingfield – Bombardier Handicap Cl4 (3yo+ 0-80) 7f
MY STYLE didn’t appear to handle heavy ground at Goodwood last month when finishing fourth to Amarillo Star and beaten around seven lengths; but Eve Johnston Houghton’s charge can bounce back having looked progressive previously.
The Holy Roman Emperor gelding had earlier reeled off back-to-back successes at Newmarket and Ascot over the autumn and he ran well in defeat when touched off by just a neck behind Nefarious at Newmarket in September.
Both of those wins have come under this rider and having possibly not handled the ground last time he could do better switching to polytrack on which he’s unexposed. This longer trip too should suit and he’s back on his last winning mark under Georgia Dobie who can claim a further 5lbs.
His wider draw is a slight concern but it would be no surprise to see him getting involved here and he can get back on the scoresheet.

MILLIE OF MAYO has been in good fettle since returning from lockdown, reeling off a hat-trick of wins at Market Rasen and Hexham before running slightly below par back at Hexham latest when only fifth to Golden Robin.
Nicky Richards’ charge however could be worth chancing to bounce back with a better effort here despite potentially being in the grip of the handicapper now with this return to a longer trip and the likely faster pace both positives in her case.
The steady pace latest over the shorter trip might not have seen the Overbury mare in the best light, but having looked progressive prior to that run she could still remain capable of better and she can make her presence felt here.
2:10 Nottingham – Best Odds Guaranteed At MansionBet Nursery Handicap Cl5 (2yo 0-75) 1m½f
GORDONSTOUN has been progressing well of late, winning two of his last three outings and the Gleneagles colt looks worth sticking with to continue his improvement and register another win.
Paul Cole’s charge got off the mark at Lingfield when faced with softer ground for the first time and although he was beaten on the all-weather in his follow-up bid when denied only by a short-head behind Menai Bridge he wasted no time in getting back to winning ways over course and distance last month.
He showed a good attitude that day, keeping on well in the soft ground and he looked well on top despite having to race wide in posting a one length verdict. That runner-up has won since and a 4lbs rise for that recent win might not prevent a follow-up if the even more testing ground doesn’t prove an inconvenience.
2:30 Lingfield – Betway Handicap Cl2 (3yo+ 0-105) 5f
TOP BREEZE has been running consistently of late and the Gale Force Ten gelding can get back on the scoresheet.
Richard Hughes’ charge won his only previous start over this course and distance when successful here back in February and while his form was patchy in his first few starts following lockdown he has got his act together of late to post a trio of efforts in the frame.
The latest of those came when finishing just one length third behind the reopposing Han Solo Berger at Wolverhampton; however he faces the same rival here on revised terms in his favour and from a decent berth towards the inside he might be able to gain some measure of revenge now.
4:50 Kempton – Unibet/British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (Plus 10/GBB Race) (Div I) Cl5 (2yo) 7f
RIVER CHORUS shaped with some promise on her debut at Newcastle in September and with that experience under her belt James Tate’s charge can do better here.
The Mehmas filly was beaten just under two lengths into fourth behind Onaiza, keeping on well and that experience won’t have been lost on her. The form itself might only prove ordinary, but she’s open to considerable progress switching to polytrack and she has the inside draw to work from.
Having offered something to work on latest she can improve for that debut effort and no surprise to see her in the mix in what is likely to be an informative contest with some interesting newcomers in opposition.
