Horse Racing Tips on Wednesday, November 17

Wednesday’s horse racing comes from Ffos Las, Hexham and Warwick. Our expert tipster has selected a quartet of best bets across the three UK meetings.

Magna Moralia (12:10 Hexham)

The opening race on Hexham’s seven-race card looks competitive with 15 runners declared to line up. Connections of MAGNA MORALIA will hope his mark of 117 over jumps can prove a lenient one as he makes his reappearance.

The four-year-old has put in some sound efforts on the flat this season and will be fancied to strike reverting to hurdles in the hands of Brian Hughes who partnered Magna Moralia when making a winning hurdling debut back in March at Kelso.

Trainer John Quinn and jockey Brian Hughes have an impressive 33% strike rate when teaming up together this year and the pair will be confident of adding another victory.

Emitom (12:40 Hexham)

Only four runners are declared for the Novices’ Chase but star-quality is provided by Warren Greatrex who sends EMITOM on the 600-mile round trip up to the Northumberland track.

There is no denying that Emitom had a frustrating campaign last season with connections deciding to revert back to hurdles in the second half of the season after his decline in form. However, those poor runs can be overlooked as the trainer subsequently found Emitom had sustained a back injury.

Warren Greatrex will be hopeful that Emitom can rediscover some of his old form now returning to the track and there is certainly room for improvement off his chase rating of 143 now returning from a break. He should be far too good for this opposition if fit and well and he can take this prize on route to bigger targets as the season goes on.

Italian Spirit (14:15 Warwick)

Olly Murphy has his team in superb form at the moment operating at a 30% strike rate in the last two weeks and the yard will be confident of adding another winner with ITALIAN SPIRIT looking to follow up his stylish win last time out at Fakenham.

Italian Spirit justified short odds last time when putting in a neat round of jumping and pulling well clear of his nearest rival. The five-year-old now goes handicapping off a workable mark and after only two hurdle starts so far, plenty of improvement will be forthcoming.

Connections have also given Italian Spirit an entry at Ascot on Friday and might be looking to strike while the iron is hot.

Faire Part Sivola (14:35 Ffos Las)

A competitive class 3 handicap hurdle can go the way of the Harry Whittington trained FAIRE PART SIVOLA who made an impressive winning start for these connections last time out.

On first start for trainer Harry Whittington, the six-year-old travelled powerfully in the hands of Daryl Jacob and stretched clear of the field as they turned for home. Despite him being left clear at the last hurdle, Daryl Jacob always looked to have things under control and ultimately recorded a cosy success.

The yard often does well with new recruits and a 6lb rise for that last time out win won’t be enough to stop further progress and he looks the best bet across any of Wednesday’s cards.
