Wednesday’s Daily Double – 10/1 double featuring runners at Newbury and Wolverhampton
Jon Vine rolls his NAP and NB into his Daily double, covering two races at Newbury and Wolverhampton on Wednesday 15th January.
Sadly, the first leg of my double could only manage third yesterday. My NAP, Financial Outcome did hack up by 15 lengths though, so it wasn’t a wasted day! As part of our Daily Tips, I’ve put together this 10/1 double for Wednesday. Best odds available here with Coral.

Wednesday’s Daily Double
1:55pm Wolverhampton Ladbrokes “Play 1-2-Free” On Football Handicap (Class 5) 6f
I was watching closely the day BATCHELOR BOY (NB) cruised to victory over course-and-distance. The margin of victory may have been just over a length and the runner-up hasn’t boosted the form since, but I thought Marco Botti’s charge was very good value for his win and, while Dana Forever looks a big danger, I’d be disappointed if Bachelor Boy didn’t follow up.
The Footstepsinthesand colt has improved with each of his starts thus far, following a fifth on debut with a narrow defeat on his first all-weather starts. Horses drawn in stall one haven’t fared well at Wolverhampton in recent months, but Bachelor Boy made light of that by powering to victory just before Christmas. An opening handicap mark of 75 certainly looks workable and he should be perfectly placed coming out of gate three.
2:50pm Newbury EBM Handicap Hurdle (Div II) (Class 4) 2m
Jack Tudor takes a valuable seven pounds off the back of top-weight EDDIEMAURICE (NAP) in this weak handicap hurdle, and a recreation of his recent third at Kempton should be good enough to claim victory on Wednesday.
Eddiemaurice ended last season with a smart victory in a handicap chase, beating the hardy Caid Du Lin over two miles at Ascot. John Flint’s nine-year-old hasn’t been at his best so far this term, but Eddiemaurice often needs a start or two to hit his stride after a break. His current hurdles mark of 120 looks pretty lenient on what he’s achieved in the past and there’s enough form on soft-ground in his book to suggest he can deal with today’s going.
