Friday 27th September expert tips – Promissory and Daahyeh the banker double with the tipsters at Newmarket
We’ve taken a look through various horse racing media publications to bring you which horses the newspaper experts are tipping in the televised races on day two of Newmarket’s Cambridgeshire Meeting.
Templegate (The Sun)
1.50 Newmarket – MAQSAD (2/1 Ladbrokes) can make her backers happy. She has won well on both starts at this track, including over this trip on comeback. She then took the Pretty Polly Stakes in good style by an easy five lengths.
2.25 Newmarket – PROMISSORY (5/4 Virgin Bet) gave the useful Sir Ron Priestley a right battle at Glorious Goodwood last time. He went on to run strongly in the St Leger so that effort looks all the better. Before that she won over this distance at Doncaster and there should be much to come after just three runs.
3.00 Newmarket – FESTIVAL DAY (5/1 William Hill) can take a big step forward. She was backed off the boards for a decent maiden on debut at Goodwood earlier this month. She had to settle for second after being blocked several times. She made up for that by walloping her rivals at Chepstow a few days later. This is a leap from that but she’s well bred and looks the type to improve.
3.35 Newmarket – ZAAKI (6/1 Unibet) has been in cracking form all season and can land another big prize. He started with a Listed win at Ascot before stepping into Group 3 class for victories at Epsom and York last time out. The mile trip is ideal and Sir Michael Stoute continues to fire in the winners. This looks wide open and his consistency is a big asset.
