Be More has the ability to run beyond his current price, but I’d be surprised if he, or any of the other runners were able to deny LYNDON B, who ran a nice race at Glorious Goodwood last time out and should have no trouble dealing with top weight.

George Scott’s charge has been in excellent form since a gelding operation at the start of the season. Lyndon B followed three solid placed efforts with a well-deserved maiden victory at Leicester, where James Doyle’s mount proved he was much better than his 82-rating by cruising to victory on his handicap debut.

Lyndon B then travelled nicely under Frankie Dettori in a classy handicap at Goodwood, until running into traffic problems at a crucial stage down the home straight. Scott’s three-year-old had to settle for third eventually, but he still managed to cross the line just a line behind the winner and second-placed Salute The Soldier has come out and boosted the form of that race with a victory of his own since.

A mile around a tight track like Sandown should be ideal and Lyndon B has proven himself capable of performing on all kinds of going. On both of his most recent runs, James Doyle’s mount has registered an RPR higher than his current rating and there’s plenty of evidence to suggest Lyndon B is still ahead of the handicapper. 6/4 looks an excellent price in a seemingly weak contest.
