This race, to me, is all about NOBLE MUSIC. Ralph Beckett’s youngster ran a cracker on her career debut, carrying odds of 33/1 into the places behind future Dante winner, Telecaster and Royal Ascot runner-up, Bangkok. The top two were clearly miles better than the rest that day, but Noble Music stayed on nicely after being held up to pass the post a clear third.

We’ve covered what the top two have gone onto accomplish, but the fourth and fifth-placed horses – who finished two and four lengths adrift of Noble Music respectively – have claimed three victories between them since. Yes, Beckett’s filly was carrying five-pounds less than her male rivals, but that doesn’t take away from what an encouraging debut it was and Noble Music will be gaining weight on many of her rivals today too.

Sea The Moon’s progeny often do their best work on soft ground and dropping back in trip by a furlong should ensure Noble Music sees out this trip on testing ground. Ben Curtis is the winning-most jockey here at Carlisle over the past five season and Beckett has his troops in excellent nick at the moment. Noble Music’s double your money price looks excellent value!
