Harry Bentley is enjoying an excellent season so far, meaning The Groove cannot be discounted. Neither can top-weight Lucky Lodge, but CREEK HARBOUR brings the best recent form into the race and has a pull at the weights over his market rivals, so I’d be surprised if he didn’t get off the mark at the first time of asking for new trainer, Milton Bradley.

Creek Harbour was backed into favouritism for an identical Claiming Stakes at Lingfield a month ago, running out an easy winner on his first start over six furlongs. Bradley’s recruit was carrying 9-6 on his back that day and comfortably saw off 80-rated Upavon. Today he will shoulder just 9-2 and he’s the joint-highest rated horse in the field, so he looks to be at a major advantage straight away.

Despite showing some decent form over seven furlongs and a mile, Creek Harbour looked well-suited to six last time out and you get the feeling there’s more to come from the favourite over sprinting distances. Luke Morris is an excellent jockey to have on your side on the all-weather and Creek Harbour won here at Wolverhampton back in December. Everything is seemingly in the favourite’s favour.
