Way Of This World has been backed to the head of the betting here, despite not running in well over a year and struggling a little on his only previous trip to Bangor. Grand Courer could be a danger if he takes to the ground, but that’s a big if, when you consider he’s campaigned through the summer months because he obviously enjoys good going.
The one to back here has to be HEAVENLY PROMISE (NAP), who ran reasonably well on his first start for Fergal O’Brien last month and has previous form at the course to back up his claims.
This eight-year-old sun of Presenting needed six starts to get off the mark over the larger obstacles last season. That solitary victory came here at Bangor, where Heavenly Promise jumped nicely and saw out three miles well to claim a comfortable victory off a mark of 76.
On the back of a series of failed efforts, Heavenly Promise was sold to David Brace, who’s grandson Conor regularly rides for Fergal O’Brien. The eight-year-old was well-beaten back in third on his reappearance, but the two ahead of him will carry short prices into their respective races tomorrow afternoon and Heavenly Promise will appreciate the extra cut in the ground.
