Across the two jumps and two all-weather meetings on Thursday, here are our best bets for you to follow…
1.25 Warwick – Skycutter (NAP)
Having run really well on chase debut and then throwing away a good opportunity at Wetherby, SKYCUTTER can now take advantage in this winnable handicap at Warwick. He is up 2lb for finishing second in that novice event last time, but his jumping was skewiff despite being very accurate on his first start over fences. The Skelton yard continue to fire in the winners, and the six-year-old faces a lower calibre of opposition on the whole here, with the more dangerous looking rivals having their first runs of the season.
2.40 Taunton – Getalead (NB)
Either side of his eighth-placed effort in a hot handicap hurdle at Cheltenham, GETALEAD has been winning for fun. He returned to winning ways last time out at Wincanton, but was value for a much wider margin of victory, having wandered around when well out in front under Gearoid Harney. He is only up 4lb and retains the 7lb claimer aboard to offset an even steeper rise, and looks more than capable of winning again.
7.00 Chelmsford – Farasi Lane (Outsider)
This is a very decent handicap for a Thursday evening. FARASI LANE is on his last winning mark though and is far from a washed up prospect, acquitting himself well in strong races with double-figure fields the last thrice. He returns from a 168-day break here, but has gone well fresh before, while the 1lb drop for finishing fourth behind a complete handicap blot last time out looks generous.
