12.40 Cheltenham – Caldwell Potter (NAP)

Hugely impressive when winning on chasing debut at Carlisle a few weeks ago, CALDWELL POTTER will be looking to make it two from two over the larger obstacles for Paul Nicholls and the Ditcheat inmate looks to be a cut above his rivals in the 12.40pm at Cheltenham. A smart hurdler, he was always destined for a career over fences and the manner in which he cruised to a five length success on chase debut suggested he could well be a Graded horse. Likely to win this with ease, it would be no surprise to see him compete t the highest level at the Cheltenham Festival come March.

1.15 Cheltenham – Willmount (NB)

Dan Skelton’s Valgrand is entitled to be a prominent figure in the betting for the 1.15pm at Cheltenham, but it’s Nicky Henderson’s WILLMOUNT that makes more appeal. A really exciting novice hurdler, he was sent off a short price for the Grade 1 Challow Novices’ Hurdle at Newbury, but was pulled up that day. He’s not been seen since that contest, which is nearly a year ago, but making his handicap debut here off a mark of 130 he could well make a mockery of that number, if fulfilling early promise on the track.

Catesby Estates Handicap Hurdle

3.00 Cheltenham – Delta Work (Outsider)

A former winner of the Cross Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, DELTA WORK is heading into the twilight of his career, but Gordon Elliott’s veteran can still show his class on Friday with victory in the Cross Country Handicap Chase at 3.00pm at Cheltenham. He will have the burden of top weight here, but he showed when second in the Grand National at April that he’s still a class act. Unable to land a blow in Grade 1 company at Down Royal last month, this is much calmer waters for the veteran and he can claim the win at big odds.
