Monday’s 16,200/1 Lucky 15 – Our UK Racing Best Bets On August 8

Horse Racing Tips On Monday, August 8

Racing from Britain and Ireland takes place at five venues on Monday. Our 16,200/1 best bets across the cards come from the all-weather ones at Kempton and Wolverhampton.

Bulleit (1.30 Kempton) 10/1

William Jarvis’ charge has a fine all-weather record and may be able to extend that at a very generous price at Kempton on Monday.

BULLEIT has struggled slightly on his last three starts, but all of them have come on turf. In six starts on grass, the best he has to muster is a single third-placed finish, which actually came in one of those recent starts at Newmarket. However, he was still beaten nearly five lengths.

However, prior to that, his 2022 form read much more appealingly. Indeed, three of his runs earlier this year came over course and distance and his form in those read 112. Two wins came off marks of 57 and 60, while he was only beaten a neck conceding 1lb to Phantasy Mac on the last of them. That horse is now rated 72.

Bulleit is only rated 63, which is 2lb lower than the mark he was runner-up off here in April. He can surely contend again back on his favourable underfoot conditions.

Teagarden Jazz (1.45 Wolverhampton) 9/2

Banned is favourite here for Hughie Morrison, but his filly has been disappointing the last twice. William Buick is a positive booking, but she is far from a certainty.

The unexposed TEAGARDEN JAZZ might instead be a better option at the prices. Running for the Charltons, she has run two good races when competing on the all-weather when beaten under two lengths on her debut in March, then second last time at Wolverhampton last month.

Her only particularly poor run came on soft ground on turf, while her second came over shy of 1m2f last time. However, she is by Golden Horn who is a serious stamina influence and the step up to 1m4f could bring about significant improvement.

Her opening rating of 75 could perhaps have been more lenient, but there is a lot to like about her given this test.

Soleil Blanc (2.45 Wolverhampton) 25/1

It is a big surprise that few seem willing to forgive SOLEIL BLANC a shocker last time out. She is still early on in her career and trainer David Evans is enjoying a rich vein of form.

She went very close on her first start at Windsor, being beaten only half-a-length over 5f. The fifth, the only horse close in behind to have run again since, has franked the form on a couple of occasions and so there is every chance this daughter of Fast Company has it in her to win at some point.

The reason for her being well into double-figure prices is largely due to her running well below that standard at Yarmouth last time. However, she was unruly beforehand, missed the kick and can easily be allowed some fractious behaviour as a precocious two-year-old.

6f should also suit her just fine and if she can cut out the antics, she has form enough to be competitive.

Brazen Diamond (4.15 Wolverhampton) 5/1

Again, we have a short-priced favourite to deal with and though Darcy’s Rock won in decent enough style recently, it was in a very low grade and she will do well to repeat it up 7lb. She was also very poor on her only run on the all-weather.

Preference instead is for the thrice-raced BRAZEN DIAMOND for Robyn Brisland. She has a usefully bred filly on her hands here and while she is yet to fully demonstrate anything like that ability on the track, she has run decent races in all.

She was third at this venue on debut and followed that the following month with a runner-up effort at Bath. She was not at that same venue at that course again next time out, but in all three of her races, the winners have been capable performers and Brazen Diamond has been granted a lowly mark of 53 here.

The step up to 7f poses a few unknowns, but her price allows for that risk and she go close.
