Victory Dance (Denford Stakes, Newbury) 1.55 pm Saturday – 4/7

The crack team of William Buick and Charlie Appleby won this contest last year and bid to repeat the feat with Victory Dance. Quite simply he is clear on Official Ratings, even if 105 does flatter him a bit and should be too good here. He threw away victory last time when favourite at Newmarket, hanging left and beaten by a head.
He should be able to recoup losses though as that was in a Group 2 contest, and these are much calmer waters. There’s dangers in the form of unbeaten trio Candle Of Hope, Ferrari Queen and Cite d’Or lurking, but they’re going to have to improve some to get past the selection. Newbury should suite him down to the ground and we can do a VICTORY DANCE on leg 1 of the acca!
Wolves To Beat Fulham (Premier League) 3pm Saturday – 11/8

Fulham were widely expected to do what previous recent editions of Fulham have done in the Premier League upon a third straight bounce back from the Championship. However, this time, they really do have Aleksandar Mitrovic.
They have, of course, had the “Big Serb” for their last two top tier recitals, but for whatever reason he had not kicked on. This time, he marked his return in thundering fashion, powering in a double against Liverpool to secure his side a well-earned point on the opening day.
Wolves, on the other hand, blew an early lead at Elland Road, going down 2-1 to Leeds. That said, Bruno Lage’s side might be closer to a renaissance than some might think, with the manager gradually moulding his squad into the image he requires for his football. Conor Coady has departed, while Gonçalo Guedes has arrived from Valencia. He may just provide some much-needed inspiration for an occasionally insipid squad and backing WOLVES TO BEAT FULHAM on Saturday looks a smart play.
Many will look at the first set of results and be tempted into believing a shock could be on the cards here. However, Premier League football is rarely so straightforward and Marco Silva’s Fulham were not entirely controlled at the back against Liverpool. Their away record in their last two seasons in the top flight is shocking too and class is backed to prevail in gold.
Australia -7 Handicap (Argentina vs Australia, Rugby Championship) Saturday 8.10pm – 10/11

These two met last week in Mendoza, with Australia running out convincing winners 41-26. They head to San Juan next minus Michael Hooper, but are taken to repeat the result there. The Wallabies looked a rejuvinated outfit ever since the narrow Series defeat to England over the summer and are building to the World Cup. They have some exciting prospects coming through and can keep their momentum going.
Argentina on the other hand look just above average. They struggled against a depleted Scotland just getting up to an unconvincing 2-1 Series win. But came crashing down last weekend as Australia were too strong on all accounts. That scoreline looked more than a fair reflection and we take the -7 here for Australia who can keep improving in the Rugby Championship and beyond.
Tottenham To Beat Chelsea & Son To Score (Premier League) 4.30pm Sunday – 4/1

This is a bit of a longshot, but we quietly fancy TOTTENHAM to end their Stamford Bridge woes and sneak a result on Sunday. Spurs have only won there once in the last 30 years, but they arguably look the better team on paper now and this could be their time to shine.
Chelsea got a result on the opening day against Everton but they weren’t convincing, and Everton had their fair share of chances. They look suspect at the back without Rudiger and Christensen, and although they’ve signed Koulibaly they still could be susceptible against Tottenham.
Antonio Conte’s Tottenham on the other hand were comfortably winners last weekend, demolishing Southampton 4-1. After a shaky start, they soon found their rhythm and put on an impressive performance in front of their fans. The front three of Kulusevski, Son and Kane is up there with the best front three’s in the league and Chelsea’s defence may struggle to contain them.
HEUNG-MIN SON failed to score on the opening weekend but did look dangerous, and after finishing as the joint top scorer in the league last season, he looks hungry for more goals this season. He can take advantage of Chelsea’s patched up defence and get on the scoresheet in a rare win. It could be a welcome return to Stamford Bridge for Antonio Conte!
