Horse Racing Tips on Thursday, August 25
There are four meetings spread across Britain on Thursday, August 25th with the action coming from Chelmsford, Carlisle, Ffos Las and Newcastle. Our expert tipster has produced their best bets across the cards, which make up our advised Thursday Lucky 15.
Kanuhura (1.35 Chelmsford) 7/1
Preference in the Gentlemen’s Day 10th September Handicap goes to KANUHURA, who caused a shock when running out a 50/1 winner over this course and distance back in February.
Laura Mongan’s filly bounced back from a few below-par performances when third, beaten just a half-length, last time out, and that performance coincided with a return to this track.
That performance can be upgraded as Kanuhura’s jockey Rab Havlin had to take a precautionary check when short of room turning for home. Havlin keeps the partnership intact here, whilst a pound rise for that latest effort certainly looks workable.
Three of Kanuhura’s top four RPRs have come in her only three previous visits to this track, so it is a venue that she clearly operates well at, and therefore she rates a value play at the prices against market leader Dawahy.

Thursday Lucky 15 Tips. Rab Havlin teams up with Laura Mongan’s Kanuhura at Chelmsford on Thursday.
Glittering Choice (2.00 Carlisle) 5/1
Hugo Palmer has an exceptional strike rate when sending his runners up to Carlisle, with the Manor House handler operating at a 50% strike rate in recent seasons, and that makes GLITTERING CHOICE of obvious interest in the Racing TV Handicap.
This daughter of Havana Gold hasn’t managed to get her head in front in seven starts for both Tom Dascombe and Hugo Palmer, but she was deemed good enough to contest the Listed Two Year Old Trophy at Redcar last October.
Glittering Choice made a very promising debut for this trainer when runner-up at Leicester in June, and the winner that day, Amanzoe, is now officially rated a whopping 29lb higher.
On that showing, Glittering Choice looks potentially thrown in here off just a 2lb higher mark, especially given that she comes into this on the back of a fine Haydock third, where only losing out in a head bob for second.
Felix Natalis (2.18 Ffos Las) 9/2
The Tom Dascombe and Richard Kingscote partnership enjoyed many fruitful days on the track, and that duo team up for a trio of rides on Ffos Las’s Thursday card, FELIX NATALIS, in particular, looking an interesting runner in the 3A’s Leisure Carmarthen Nursery Handicap.
This Harry Angel colt made a winning nursery debut at Newbury last month, making all and powering clear late to run out a three and a half length winner.
Felix Natalis hasn’t added to that win in two subsequent starts, but he found Class 2 company too hot at Glorious Goodwood before finding 5f a little too sharp back at Newbury last time, so can have both of those performances upgraded, whilst it’s also worth noting that the front two were over 6l clear of the remainder the last day.
Felix Natalis looks potentially well handicapped off just a pound higher mark today, with this representing a slight drop in class to 0-75 level.

Thursday Lucky 15 Tips. Tom Dascombe sends out Felix Natalis at Ffos Las on Thursday.
Polyphonic (5.30 Carlisle) 6/1
The Join Racing TV Now Handicap closes Carlisle’s Thursday card, and POLYPHONIC is fancied to land the contest for trainer Karl Burke and jockey Clifford Lee.
This 3yo son of Sea The Stars is out of a French Group 3 winner, and although winless from six starts to date he has produced some eye-catching form which includes a half-length second to the now 104-rated West Wind Blows.
Polyphonic has run to a consistent level in both handicap starts to date, just failing to see out the 1m6f at Nottingham last time out, finishing fourth to Mostly Cloudy, who has won twice since.
Polyphonic has been gelded since that showing, which has the potential to eke out improvement, whilst dropping back to 1m3f also looks a good move. This really doesn’t rate the strongest of races and therefore Polyphonic looks the one to be with.
