The Firth Of Clyde Fillies’ Stakes is the only Group race held in Scotland, and the Group 3 looks an open race this year.
Queen Me heads the betting after a close second in the Lowther Stakes, but favourites don’t have the greatest record in the race.
Is she worth taking on in the betting? If so, who with?

1st – Bonny Angel (11/2)

BONNY ANGEL ran out an impressive four length winner at Doncaster last time out and deserves a crack in Group company.
Prior to her romp at Doncaster she won at Leicester, beating Lily In The Jungle by a neck when 1lb heavier. The level of improvement is evident when you see that she beat that same rival at Doncaster by twelve and a half lengths, despite being 3lb heavier.
That Doncaster victory an eye-catching performance and she proved her class with a dominant display. Clive Cox’s filly has been improving with every run and she can strike at her first attempt in pattern company.
2nd – All The Time (7/1)

Simon & Ed Crisford have their yard in red-hot form lately, and they have a good chance here with ALL THE TIME. She went close in the Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury at the start of the month and she can go close again here.
Having been a convincing winner in class 2 company in August, she stepped up to Group company for the first time and ran a blinder, finishing well clear of those that were held up and there’s a good chance she could claim the same position in this.
She was clear of Maria Branwell that day and should beat her again here, but she may find the fast improving Bonny Angel too good.
3rd – Queen Me (6/4)

QUEEN ME probably has the best form on offer here, after her neck second to Swingalong in the Group 2 Lowther Stakes. However, she had a plum draw that day and there’s flaws in the form of that race.
She had Maria Branwell over two lengths back in that race, and that rival was then beat by the re-opposing All The Time at Salisbury by almost two lengths. Looking at that form there doesn’t seem to be much between Queen Me and All The Time, but All The Time is a far bigger price in this.
Add to that the filly who beat her in the Lowther, Swingalong, was beat a length by Bonny Angel at Newbury in the summer.
In truth, any of the top three could win this, but at the odds we prefer the chances of Bonny Angel, with the form of the Crisford team just edging us towards their filly claiming the runner-up spot. Queen Me can then chase those two home, in what should be a cracker of a race!
