Monday’s Lucky 15 – Our UK Racing Best Bets On July 11

Horse Racing Tips on Monday, July 11

There are five meetings spread across Britain on Monday, July 11th with the action coming from Newton Abbot, Ayr, Ffos Las, Windsor and Wolverhampton. Our expert tipster has produced their best bets across the cards, which make up our advised Monday Lucky 15.

Giselles Izzy (2.25 Ayr)

The 6f Book Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup Handicap looks like a good opportunity for GISELLES IZZY to get off the mark at the ninth attempt.

Iain Jardine’s filly raced too freely when seventh on her stable debut at Redcar last month, but she stepped forward on that when runner-up (beaten a half-length) in a course and distance handicap last week.

Reverting to front-running back sprinting suited Giselles Izzy, and she should be allowed to dominate here in a race where a large proportion of the runners prefer to be held up. Off a mark of 55, which she is surely capable of winning off, she gets the vote.

Villalobos (3.55 Ffos Las)

Ffos Las’s extended 7f Join Vickers.Bet Free Bet Club Classified Stakes looks like a weak affair, and it could provide VILLALOBOS with a good opportunity to get his head in front for the first time.

Richard Hughes’ charge was a £50,000 Breeze Up purchase last year, and although he cut little ice in a trio of maiden/novice events, those came in races won by the likes of Saga and Whitebeam, both above-average sorts.

He was backed into 9/4F for a Chelmsford classified stakes race last month, the presence of William Buick in the saddle possibly a factor, and although only ultimately fourth there he shaped with promise staying on from closer to the stands rail than the three ahead of him.

The extra half-furlong on a more stamina-focused track is expected to suit Villalobos, and Richard Hughes is operating at a level stakes profit of +15.88 with his 3yo runners at this track.

Singing The Blues (5.55 Wolverhampton)

Clifftop Heaven is likely to be popular for this amateur jockeys’ handicap having scored impressively at Doncaster on Thursday, but this looks on paper at least to be a far stronger race and preference instead goes to SINGING THE BLUES.

Rod Millman’s 7yo has been slowly coming to hand in his three starts this season, finishing fifth from off the pace in a race where it paid to be handy at Bath last time.

Now 2lb lower, Singing The Blues is 12lb below his last winning mark, and it’s particularly notable that he returns to Wolverhampton here, a track where his record currently reads an impressive 3-6.

Patrick Millman, who has won on this gelding previously, is back aboard today, and it looks particularly interesting that cheekpieces go on here for the first time since January 2019.

Pretty Shiftwell (6.05 Windsor)

The At The Races App Form Study Handicap takes place at Windsor on Monday and of the entrants, PRETTY SHIFTWELL catches the eye for trainer Stuart Williams and jockey Sean Levey.

This filly remains without a win since landing a Wolverhampton novice auction race last June, but she shaped as though a return to winning ways might not be far away when third at Yarmouth last week.

Pretty Shiftwell takes up this quick engagement off a now 2lb lower mark, and this is the first time she’s been seen at Windsor since finishing a 20/1 fourth in a novice last May. Two of the three horses ahead of her that day are now officially rated 74, which suggests that a mark of 52 is within this filly’s capabilities, and genuinely fast ground appears to suit her well.
