Form & Verdict
16l third of eight at Haydock (1m7f, soft) in November was a marked step forward and the best hurdles form in this line-up; however, he was beaten 42l when 33-1 at Cheltenham (2m4f) next time and 20l when 11-8 favourite on handicap debut at Ludlow (2m5f, good) on latest, which failed to back up the Haydock form.

Good ground is the key to him; his form had nosedived but he was running much better when hampered late on at the Cheltenham Festival and then came good at Haydock (2m4f, good), prevailing only narrowly but under a confident ride in a strong race (he also won it the season before when staged at Cheltenham); a 4lb rise seems very generous.

Won this race 12 months ago at Cheltenham when 1lb higher so he's dangerously handicapped for his defence; his form had nosedived after winning in a small field at Newton Abbot in October but the signs were more encouraging last time in the 2m4f Plate at the Festival as he was staying on when hampered by a faller at the last fence; has to be of interest, especially given the yard's form.

He's run some of his better races at Cheltenham, including a New course win (about 2m4f, good; off this mark) from O'Moore Park last April; not much going for him on his form since beating three rivals at Newton Abbot in October but some sort of revival isn't beyond the imagination.

Form & Verdict
Often front-runner; Irish maiden point winner in the mud; minor honours in three of his six races under rules make him a serious contender today, but the other three were heavy defeats; very mixed messages but he has a better chance to dictate again today.

On a good mark if able to rediscover his peak form but his debut for this yard was disappointing and that was back in August.

Form & Verdict
Made the frame in two good-ground Warwick bumpers last spring; 40-1, also showed significant ability when fifth of seven in novice hurdle at Wetherby (2m3f, good to soft) one month ago; others have better form but he should improve.

Form & Verdict
No match for the winner when second of seven in bumper here (2m1f, good) last September on debut; made most when 40-1 at Wincanton (1m7f, good to soft) five weeks ago but was beaten 20l; debut promise should not be forgotten yet and this longer trip can suit in today's hurdle debut.
