His last win was 13 months ago but he's run two promising races for James Owen this spring and was beaten less than 2l when sixth at Leicester (1m, good to firm; 9-2) last time; remains well handicapped on his old form and he shouldn't be far away. |

On a long losing sequence (for Darryll Holland) but he made a promising start for James Owen after a three-month layoff when second of 12 in 1m AW Lingfield handicap nine days ago; big shout nudged up 1lb. |

Signed off for Darryll Holland with a below-par run at Kempton in January but had gone close off today's mark over C&D a few days earlier and it will be interesting to see what James Owen can do with him (same owner). |

Stronger in the market second time out at Bath (5.5f, good to soft; 13-2) and hit the frame, albeit behind one who had taken five goes to get off the mark; the time wasn't great. |

Signs of some ability despite running green when sixth of eight on Catterick debut (5f, good to soft; 10-1) in July; could come on plenty for the run with yard having a fine strike-rate with 2yos this year (13-55) and 1-3 with them here overall. |

Appeared held by the penalty for her 5.5f Bath maiden success (good to soft) when coming up under 1l short on this month's follow-up bid at Chelmsford (6f); this sharp track may play to her attacking strengths. |

On the up for Archie Watson, following her near miss at Bath on last month's stable debut with a breakthrough win at the same track a fortnight ago (5.5f, good to soft; made all in first-time cheekpieces); solid candidate despite her 5lb penalty. |

Improved greatly on first two starts when third on final two runs in Ireland (about 5f, soft/6f, good) and there was hardly anything in it when she went down narrowly over C&D 15 days ago on debut for new yard; looks sure to be bang there; cheekpieces fitted. |

Both wins over 6f at Brighton (for previous yard); weak claims on 2025 form for new stable; enough to prove in this first crack at the minimum trip. |

Thereabouts in all starts at sprint trips; probably not much in it as to whether she's better at 5f or 6f and she has the benefit of C&D experience; readiness for this is the question, having been off since September. |

3,500gns yearling; tenth foal; sister to 1m2f-1m6f winner Soul Stopper (including KSA; RPR 96), closely related to four winners including Perfect Tribute (5f-7f including 2yo/Group 3; 108) and Tadqeeq (7f AW 2yo; 88); dam unraced; has fair standard to aim at on debut and is best watched. |

Verdict
Top of the list is KANDOO, who finished placed in her last two runs in Ireland and went down fighting in a close second on her stable debut at Bath last week. She sets the standard on that form and should have more to offer for Archie Watson. Dual Kempton runner-up Sparklight is feared most on her return from a break, although Nelson Rose has shown plenty of speed in her last two runs and could resume her progress on this drop back to 6f. The most interesting newcomer is Tara Atacama.[David Moon]
