Got up in final stride in second-time cheekpieces at Market Rasen (2m4f, good) most recently; remains well treated on peak form and this return to further is worth exploring; enters calculations in the retained headgear. |

Very useful hurdler/chaser in his prime; well below best during a fairly light campaign last season (four hurdle runs; cheekpieces added last time) but will appreciate this ease in grade and has slipped to a dangerous mark. |

Yet to win in seven chase attempts and most of his form is on slow ground, yet it was good to soft when third in the Red Rum at Aintree in April (2m) and good when beaten only 2l at Sandown later that month (2m4f); every chance off this mark if he's on the ball after his break. |

Has raced only on softer than good; 2m3f hurdle winner in France in May 2023; minor honours in six of seven British starts, the exception when he bled here on penultimate outing; rallying third of 14 under Tom Broughton at Aintree (2m) latest and may now be worth this second attempt at about 2m4f. |

Regressive 9yo who ought to have been favoured by the soft ground when never-dangerous fourth (about 19l behind Dusky Days) here (2m6f) last month; on a very good mark now but needs to stage a revival. |

Took step back in right direction when respectable fifth at Worcester (2m7f, good) this month and has the services of James Bowen again here but this regressive 9yo is patently not the force of old; others preferred. |

Hard-fought win back over hurdles at Hexham (2m) before a 10l defeat returned to fences; no great significance in the return of cheekpieces (blinkered last two races) but entitled to have some say. |

Won this race off today's mark a year ago (good; first-time blinkers) and reverts to chasing after hard-fought hurdle win here (2m, good; refitted blinkers) a fortnight ago; obvious contender. |

Won over fences here (2m, good; in first-time blinkers - two finished) last June; runner-up at Newcastle (2m4f) in April, but low key at Kelso subsequently; returns to hurdles for the first time since finishing tailed off over C&D last October; others more appealing. |

Verdict
Crebilly ended last season with a good win over hurdles and is open to significant further progress over fences this term but preference is for the proven fitness and chasing ability of GLORY AND HONOUR, who has remained in good form since his winning stable debut in the summer.[Chris Wilson]
