Tailed off when 9-1 for a Listed mares' bumper at Navan in November; this is probably a bit easier but needs to leave that run well behind.

Concedes weight all round and pulled up in the Irish Gold Cup last time, though was facing a very tough task against males on that first rules attempt at 3m; unbeaten over fences previously (2m4f-2m6f, various ground) including a Grade 1 win against males at Fairyhouse last April and a Listed stroll at Doncaster in December; races prominently; firmly in calculations.

Verdict

Both of Willie Mullins’ represenatives warrant consideration but Joie Couer Allen has been a little frustrating to follow and it’s hard to gauge whether she will appreciate this longer trip. Spindlebetter is the trainer’s other runner but she needs a jolt of improvement on what she’s shown so far. Preference is for Barry Fitzgerald’s HURRICANE BAILEY who looked promising when third on debut in similar ground and she could be the one to beat if she builds on that. [Phill Anderson]
