Has proved a model of consistency in the last 12 months and he rallied for fourth behind Dance And Glance over C&D last time; however, that run underlined that the handicapper appears to have his measure for now; needs to be boosted by the fitting of cheekpieces.

He needs to find something extra on his last three performances but this novice hurdle winner (good to soft) is now 2lb lower than when third of 15 on handicap debut at Cheltenham (2m, soft) in November, and perhaps he'll be aided by the first-time tongue-tie.

Holding his form pretty well, creditable third of ten at Kempton (2m, good to soft) four weeks ago, but he will need something extra off just 1lb lower and has stamina to prove over this much longer trip.

Rather disappointing at Huntingdon last time but has otherwise proved a solid type and may well rebound, especially as he was successful (in bumper) on this card 12 months ago; good effort in Cheltenham handicap on penultimate start.

Soft-ground bumper winner who was a respectable seventh of 15 in a Grade 2 Aintree in April (good); made a nice debut over hurdles at Uttoxeter (2m, good; in May) when finishing well to go down narrowly behind one who has since completed a hat-trick; should be on the scene.
