Acts on turf but Tapeta is his surface so far and was much too strong for his rivals at Southwell (6f; first-time cheekpieces) two starts ago; no impact at Catterick (7f) since and has a shade to prove off new mark, 7lb higher than for the win. |

Impressive when off the mark at Southwell eight days ago in first-time cheekpieces; fairly treated under a penalty and too soon to say he's not as good on turf but 6f on Tapeta evidently suits well, and he'll need to settle on his first crack at 7f from stall 11. |

Had a couple of close calls at Newcastle and over C&D in the spring, but he hasn't been at the top of his game in last two starts; overall record is now 0-9 and he needs first-time cheekpieces to make a difference. |
