Bits of promise for Marcus Tregoning before changing hands for 18,000gns; ran his best race yet on stable debut when beaten a head at Carlisle (1m1f, good); has every chance on these terms and open to further improvement.

T: Jane Chapple-Hyam

Group 1 winner in 2018 when trained in France but he's 0-11 for current stable; went close off 5lb higher in the 2022 Royal Hunt Cup but he's generally struggled in his last seven runs and refused to race at Sandown last month; others preferred.

Proved suited by step up to 1m2f in the spring, winning Curragh Group 3 and Chester Group 2 on heavy/soft; good to firm ground perhaps wasn't ideal in the Coronation Cup but the bare form of that defeat, behind Emily Upjohn and Westover, gives him plenty to find in this similar event.

Rohaan

9st 9lb

J: Adam Kirby

T: David Evans

Had a slow start to the year but there were signs of the old superb Rohaan over 5f at Ascot last week and the return to his best trip can only help; he excels on that track but the race didn't go to plan when fourth here 12 months ago and unwise to think he must have Ascot to show his best; any rain a help but one of his best runs on good to firm.

All five wins on AW, three over 7f this year; 0-5 on turf but he put in some convincing late work over 6f (good) on grass at Newbury in May and it's quite likely he can achieve more over 7f on turf.
