BEST BETS ON TUESDAY – RACING TIPS FOR DONCASTER, KELSO, NEWBURY & SOUTHWELL

12:00 Doncaster – Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap Chase Cl3 (4yo+ 0-135) 3m

TRUCKIN AWAY has been steadily progressive over fences, building on a promising return to action following wind surgery to find only one too good at Ludlow latest and Philip Hobbs’ charge can get off the mark in this discipline.

A heavy ground winner over hurdles at Ffos Las last term, he has proven well suited by a testing surface and the ground may just have been too quick on his return at Exeter which might have been needed in any case.

That form looks fair with the sixth winning since and this mark looks workable given he has the potential for better still as a chaser and with conditions ideal he ought to be competitive.

Best bets on Tuesday. Philip Hobbs can get amongst the winners at Doncaster.

12:12 Kelso – Every Race Live On Racing TV Novices’ Hurdle (GBB Race) Cl4 (4yo+) 2m6½f

DELUXE RANGE has shaped well on both starts over hurdles, building on a good fifth at Hexham over two miles to chase home Alaphilppe at Ayr latest when stepped up in trip.

Sandy Thompson’s charge was beaten around six lengths on that occasion but he was clear of the third and the winner looked useful. That form has been franked with the winner going in again and the third home has made the frame in both successive starts.

This further step up in trip looks sure to suit and the extra yardage can help eke out some further improvement and still unexposed he could have better to come so every chance he can go close here.

12:35 Doncaster – Visit attheraces.com Handicap Hurdle Cl3 (4yo+ 0-140) 3m½f

GOSHEVEN showed some fair form over hurdles last term and the Presenting gelding appeared to relish the longer trip when scoring over this course and distance earlier in the month, beating Silent Assistant by just over two lengths.

Philip Hobbs’ charge now tries handicapping where an opening mark of 123 looks fair and with the softer ground here no issue he could find another jolt of improvement over this longer trip where he’s unexposed.

He showed a willing attitude to land that win last time out and with the potential for better still he looks worth chancing to follow up here.

12:47 Kelso – SPG Fire & Security Ltd Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (Northern Lights Mares’ Hurdle Series Qualifier) Cl4 (3yo+ 0-120) 2m2f

WEST END LADY is much the least exposed of this field and Lucinda Russell’s charge can open her win account.

The Westerner mare has finished third on both her starts over hurdles and she likely would have gone close to a win at Hexham latest where she was hampered jumping the last and made a mistake having travelled well into the contest.

Her yard has won two of the last three renewals of this race and it is interesting she is switched into a handicap on the back of those two promising outings where a mark of 113 could prove workable despite possibly being a shade harsh given her achievements to date.

She could have more to offer in this sphere however and with the potential for improvement she could be worth chancing to get off the mark now.

Best bets on Tuesday. Kelso are hoping to beat the weather and race on Tuesday.

1:57 Kelso – Boscasports Racing’s Digital Display Novices’ Hurdle (GBB Race) Cl4 (4yo+) 2m

This doesn’t look a particularly strong contest and ELYSIAN FLAME could be the answer having shaped well over hurdles in her runs to date where she’s clashed with the likes of Botox Has and Allmankind.

Mick Easterby’s charge returned to hurdles for her latest run at Leicester earlier in the month where he found only one too good in One True King who looked a useful prospect and despite being no match for the winner the Champs Elysees gelding finished well clear of the third.

A repeat of that effort might be enough to see him going one better in what appears a weaker contest and with the potential still for further progress he ought to make his presence felt here.

3:15 Newbury – MansionBet Challow Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 2m4½f

Only one in this field of six didn’t win last time out and some potentially classy sorts step out including the unbeaten STAR GATE who looked something special when bolting up in grand style at Sandown earlier in the month to take the Winter Novices’ Hurdles by the thick end of ten lengths.

Evan Williams’ charge had thumped two subsequent winners with ease at Chepstow the time before and the Imperial Monarch gelding can continue his rapid progress to strike again with these conditions sure to be no problem given he sluiced through heavy ground in that impressive win last time.

The highest rated in the field amongst those who have qualified for a mark there’s sure to be better to come and while this is a top quality field he takes on he is thoroughly unexposed still and looks one to keep on side.

Best bets on Tuesday. Evan Williams' Star Gate can win the Challow Hurdle at Newbury.

5:00 Southwell – Play Ladbrokes 5-A-Side On Football Nursery Handicap Cl6 (2yo 0-65) 1m

RESTRICTED AREA did well to finish third last time out over this course and distance having been slowly away, but the Lethal Force colt caught the eye finishing strongly and if he can get off to a level break this time around then Jamie Osborne’s charge might be able to get off the mark.

The selection has bettered his finishing position with each start and despite plenty going wrong for him last time he was only beaten just over one length behind reopposing Swinton Moon to whom he was giving 10lbs on ratings although that one was also claimer ridden.

He’s 5lbs better off now which can see him turn the tables and still unexposed there’s likely further improvement to come and the unexposed youngster can open his account now.
