Today’s Money Back 2nd To SP Fav Tips
Struggling to see which races make the most of this excellent special offer? Fear not, we’re here to help!
Here are our tips at today’s selected meeting at Catterick with Boylesports…
A Wide-open Amateur Riders’ handicap to kick off the card, with the battle for favouritism between Condarcia and Krujers Girl likely to go right down to the wire. We feel, however, that ROCKLIFFE (9/1 Boylesports) could be the one to side with.
Micky Hammond’s six-year-old is a modest flat-racer, reaching a peak rating of just 42, but he’s much more effective over hurdles. Last season, Rockliffe bolted up in this race under Amie Waugh and the pair return to Catterick just one pound higher in the handicap. He could be good enough to defend his crown.
POGUE (3/1 Boylesports) won a point-to-point to Ireland for Colin Bowe prior to being bought for a six-figure sum, and having joined Donald McCain the Stowaway gelding has shaped with some promise to make the frame in all four starts over hurdles to date.
Last seen finding only one too good in Do Not Disturb at Kelso, beaten two lengths, he has since had wind surgery and returns from a couple of months off the track where his attentions are switched to chasing.
He could improve then switching to the larger obstacles now given his background, and with a tongue-tie now applied he ought to go well and can get off the mark under Rules.
Reverant Cust has jumped to the head of the market overnight and it now looks likely he will go off as the fav. That brings up the opportunity to back MAXED OUT KING (9/4 Boyelsports), who may be 11, but proved last time out that he was still capable of winning races like this.
Sue Smith’s teenager hadn’t won since May 2017 when he arrived at Sedgefield last month, but ran on gamely after a fine round of jumping to win by almost two lengths. Maxed Out King has jumped back up the handicap to a mark of 102 following that win, but he’s more than capable of challenging the market leader.
