Chelsea To Win + BTTS (Chelsea vs Salzburg) 8pm – 7/4
Graham Potter takes charge of his first game as Chelsea manager and he can get off to a winning start against Salzburg.
The blues have had a mixed start to the season, and suffered an embarrassing loss to Dinamo Zagreb last week – a result which saw Thomas Tuchel lose his job. They are capable of starting the Potter era with a win though, and the crowd can play their part in it. They remain unbeaten at home this season, only dropping points against Tottenham when they conceded a 96th minute equaliser.
Chelsea’s home record in the group stage of the CL makes for good reading – they’ve only lost one of their last 20 games in the group stage, and they can continue that good record against Salzburg. The Austrians don’t have the best record against English opposition (lost their last five), but they know where the back of the net is, scoring 24 goals in their 10 games so far this season.
Salzburg play attacking football and do usually find the back of the net, only failing to score once in their Champions League campaign last year. Chelsea have won their last two home games with both teams scoring, so the odds of 7/4 for CHELSEA TO WIN + BTTS looks a superb bet.
Mbappe To Score + PSG To Win (Maccabi Haifa vs PSG) 8pm – 4/6
PSG look a dominant force this season and have been battering sides for fun in Ligue 1. They brushed aside Juventus to kick off their Champions League campaign with a win, largely thanks to Kylian Mbappe’s red-hot form. We’re banking on him continuing that run with a convincing victory over Maccabi Haifa.
The front three of Neymar, Messi and Mbappe is probably the deadliest in the world currently, and between them they’ve scored 23 goals already this season. Leading the line is Kylian Mbappe, who has netted an impressive nine goals from seven games so far, including that double against Juventus.
Maccabi Haifa are one of those sides that are too good in their national division, but struggle against the European elite in the Champions League. They’ve won all four league games this season, but were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Benfica in the opening round of Champions League games. Benfica aren’t at the same level as PSG, so we could be in line for a big scoreline if PSG score early doors.
The odds of 4/6 of MBAPPE TO SCORE + PSG TO WIN reflect that, but we still think it’s a solid bet to include into our acca.
Vinicius Jr To Score + Real Madrid To Win (Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig) 8pm – 6/4
Real Madrid will undoubtedly miss talismanic striker Karim Benzema, who has been ruled out through injury, but Vinicius Junior is in fantastic form and can help continue Madrid’s 100% start to the season.
Having won all seven games this season, including a comfortable 3-0 victory away to Celtic on the opener week of the CL, it’s easy to see why they’re one of the favourites to lift the trophy again at the end of the season. Key to their start of the season is the form of Vinicius Junior, who has scored in each of his last five games, including opening the scoring against Celtic last week.
They face a RB Leipzig side who suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat at home to Shakhtar on the opening week, and are yet to win away from home this season. They did run out convincing 3-0 winners at home to Dortmund at the weekend, but their away form hasn’t been good for some time now and they will struggle away to the Spanish giants.
With no Benzema, Vinicius Jr should step up and continue his impressive goalscoring form and help the galacticos maintain their 100% win record this season. Skybet are offering odds of 6/4 on VINICIUS JR TO SCORE + REAL MADRID TO WIN, which looks a fantastic bet and goes straight into our acca!
Man City To Win + BTTS (Man City vs Dortmund) 8pm – 11/8
Aside from the Community Shield defeat to Liverpool, Man City have made an unbeaten start to their season, and demolished Sevilla 4-0 last week in the Champions League. They’ve won all three games at the Eithad this season and can continue that with victory against Dortmund.
These two met in the group stage last season, with City winning both games 2-1. Man City have since signed Dortmund’s key player from last year, Erling Haaland, who has been breaking records with his 12 goal start to his season. He netted a brace against Sevilla last week and Dortmund were probably hoping not to have him so soon after selling him!
Dortmund have made a solid start to their season, winning four of their six games in the Bundesliga and cruising past Copenhagen 3-0 in the opening round of the CL. They’ve netted in all but one game this season (3-0 loss to RB Leipzig last weekend being the exception), so finding the back of the net shouldn’t be an issue for them.
Man City have conceded nine goals in their eight competitive games this season so are susceptible to a goal or two, and with Dortmund looking prolific in front of goal, the odds of 11/8 for MAN CITY TO WIN + BTTS looks a huge price.
