TOO HARD TO HOLD is drawn towards the outer which isn’t ideal here over this trip but that might not stop the Camacho gelding from following up his latest success here two weeks ago.

Jack Davison’s charge was scoring over six furlongs on that occasion, beating Kuwait Direction by a half-length and he’d been running in well in defeat previously.

Also a winner on turf at Fairyhouse in September he drops back to five furlongs here which is a slight concern given his track position; but he appeared to win a shade cosily latest and a 4lbs rise in the weights remains workable so he might be capable of better still.

Assuming the draw doesn’t prove a big negative then he ought to get involved here and he looks capable of going close in an open contest.

QUEENSHIP shaped well on her recent debut over six furlongs at this venue and with that experience under her belt Joseph O’Brien’s charge can get off the mark at the second attempt.

The Excelebration filly ran green for much of that debut, but she finished off the race well and ought to be better for the run so it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see her take a marked step forward over this extra furlong.

Sure to improve she can make her presence felt in this contest and she could prove the one to beat with the longer trip likely to be in her favour.

BOLD APPROACH won this prize twelve months ago and Jim Bolger’s charge looks worth sticking with to successfully defend having turned in a better effort latest.

The Dawn Approach colt scored his only career success to date when winning this race twelve months ago, beating Sky Seven by just over one length; but he went off the boil following that success and his form in the wake of the win was mixed.

His latest runner-up effort saw him finding only one too good in Construct over two miles here, but he could go one better here dropping back in trip where he’s able to race from the same mark. Assuming then he can build on that more promising effort last time out then he might be able to take the honours in this race for a second year.

MAGI GAL emerged from a spell in the doldrums when running out a neck winner over twelve furlongs here last month and it might be worth keeping faith in the Magician filly to follow up.

John McConnell’s charge had scored her previous win back in January over this course and distance and she took advantage of her sliding rating latest when beating Wisaka under this rider.

She won a shade comfortably all things considered as plenty went wrong for her during the race having fluffed the start and then bumped twice in the race so the handicapper has perhaps reacted a shade harshly by hitting her with a 7lbs rise.

However the yard’s runners always need respected at this venue and if she can back up that return to winning ways then she could follow up under her promising claiming rider.

ORCHID GARDENS won a shade readily over this course and distance nine days ago and Mick Halford’s charge can double up.

The Muhaarar filly had made the frame on all previous visits to this venue and she’s yet to finish out of the first four in her career thus far including when tried in Listed company back in February.

First-time cheekpieces applied last time appeared to help focus her energies and eke out another jolt of improvement and a 4lbs rise in the ratings remains workable given she still has potential for better for all this is a deeper race.

She did have the services of a claimer last time but Rory Clearly is the man in the saddle this time around so she’ll need a bit more on these terms but improvement could be forthcoming and she can make her presence felt again.
